This 1964 Dodge 440 was sold new at Penner Dodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba and still retains its original dealer badge on the trunk lid. The car stayed in Manitoba most of its life before coming to Ontario. Garage kept, and well cared for, this Polara still retains all of its original panels! The car was repainted only once in 1985 and has its original interior with the exception of new carpet. The paint is showing its age and has some flaws, but it has great gloss and is excellent driver quality. Under the hood and in the door jambs the car’s original paint can be seen! The chrome and stainless trim on the car is in good shape. All the glass is excellent with no chips or cracks.
This Dodge has a 465 wedge engine with an Edelbrock Torker aluminum intake, a Holley 4 barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and long tube headers. The engine started as a 1969 440 block and was built to a 465 wedge by Mississauga Engines. The transmission is a heavily built Torqueflite 727 automatic. The 8 3/4 rear end has an Eaton 3.91 TrueTrac with Strange Engineering axles. Countless dollars were spent on this monster drivetrain. The car has subframe connectors which help it handle the power. The car rides on 15” steel wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and has power steering.
This Dodge 440 Hardtop is a great driving example of a rust free, western car. The driveline is incredible and this Mopar will live up to its reputation on the street!
