This may be the highest quality restored 1956 Ford Sunliner you will ever see. If that’s not enough, it will definitely be the rarest one you’ll ever see. This is a Ford built factory twin 4 barrel assembly designed for the 1956, 312 CI engine. It was rated 260 horsepower and is what propelled the Ford race team to win the most prestigious race held on September 3, 1956, the “Darlington Southern 500”. This marked the end of the powerful Chrysler 300’s domination on the super highways. Ford’s new twin 4 barrel race package and the much more common 1957 setups led Ford Teams to win more races in 1956 and 1957 than any other automobile manufacturer. It is a fact that just over 100 of these 1956 race packages were built in order to qualify as race packages, and only 50 were installed in factory cars.
It’s very difficult to describe how nice this car really is. The more you see, the better it gets. You can peel back the mat in the trunk and it looks as clean as the firewall. This is truly an amazing restoration that runs and drives as good as it looks. For more information please contact Steve at 770-401-7877 or at [email protected]
