1968 VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 3 FASTBACK
A completely original and unmolested example of the German marque's
stylish Type 3 Fastback.
Under the engine lid is the 1.6-litre air-cooled flat-four
producing around 50bhp, which drives the rear wheels via a
four-speed manual transmission.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
Introduced at the 1961 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Type 3 was
available in three body styles: Notchback, Squareback and this, the
Fastback. It offered increased passenger and luggage space, while
retaining the landmark Beetle engineering principles.
Still in original condition, the Type 3 features a classic color
scheme, with a white exterior over black upholstery.
The Type 3 remains unmodified and unrestored, having simply been
driven, enjoyed, and well maintained. Only change is the wheels and
weber carburetors.
There is no known prior bodywork damage other than a dent on the
front valiance. The floor pans are original and look great!
The exterior was repainted about 20yrs ago and shows great with the
only noticeable flaw on the trunk lid where a sticker was removed.
All the badges and trim are present and correct.
Inside, the interior remains in good condition, with minimal 'wear
and tear commensurate with the age of the vehicle. The photo
gallery presents an accurate illustration of the condition, and of
course, it remains eminently usable. All gauges, controls, and
switches work as they should.
There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
The vehicle was inspected at its most recent service with the owner
being issued with no warnings or advisories. We just installed new
front brake calipers and pads along with 4 new tires.
