We will start off with the exterior of this Mustang. The body on it
has been cloned to look like a GT500 and they did an excellent job
on the modifications. We can see it has the iconic grill up front,
along with having the side pipes, and out back it has the molded
deck lid and taillights. It's covered in the Candy Apple Red Paint
that's Accented by the White Stripes. It was redone in the base
coat clear coat paint that has been wet sanded, buffed, and
polished to a gorgeous finish that's slick as a ribbon. We can also
see that it has had a new white convertible top installed at the
time of the restoration. Up front the hood has been fitted with
hood pins and we can see that both grills have a gorgeous finish.
All the glass in this Mustang is in great condition with the side
glass going up and down with ease and having a great fit. To finish
off the stance it's sitting on the 17" Shelby Styled Wheels with
245/45 Cooper Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this GT 500 Convertible. On
the inside it's done in the classic black with stainless accents.
Both door panels and the rear panels are very nice and have had new
handles installed. Up front it has bucket seats with the stitched
in Carrol Shelby signature and it has the bench seat in the back.
Looking at the dash we can see new gauges were installed along with
having had the radio upgraded. It also has gauges added to the
console which houses the 5 Speed Shifter. This '67 has had new
pedals installed as well. Both the upper and lower dash pads are
very nice and done in black. One killer touch you'll notice is the
Glovebox that has some of the most famous members of Shelby
American Teams Signatures. Inside the trunk it's all detailed out
and we can see a new gas tank was installed along with the battery
being relocated here to the trunk.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Ford. Under the hood
it's powered by the FE 427 Engine that's set up with the Edelbrock
Aluminum Heads and Edelbrock Victor 427 Aluminum High Rise Intake
and Demon Carburetor. It's dressed out in the Cobra Valve covers
with the matching air intake. This '67 sports the monte carlo bar
along with the Chrome shock tower support. To keep it cool it's
been set up with an Aluminum Radiator. For exhaust it has headers
with the dual pipes and side exiting tips. This Mustang Convertible
has the Four-Wheel Disc brake upgrade from Wilwood. The 427 Big
Block is mated to the 5 Speed Manual Transmission and 9" Rear End.
When we look under it, we can see that he floor pans are all solid
along with the frame. The Rear end suspension has been upgraded
with Caltrack Bars, and up front it has the sway bar along with
having had the control arm bushings replaced. On the highway this
427 has all the performance you could hope for. It also handles
with ease and stops true, don't miss out on your opportunity to fly
down memory lane in this 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 tribute.
