Toyota 1974 FJ40 Landcruiser presented in just a terrific driven show fashion with emphasis on top mechanicals, shown with the highly detailed light Sand Beige classic desert color with a white hardtop. This is the perfect summer cruiser with the hard top able to come off for those sunny days. This FJ has the desired rear 3 way door with the top opening separately and then the dual outer lower doors open. Sitting on a stock body with a very nice frame-on build to the highest mechanicals and very nice cosmetic quality, with the large front ‘Assie’ great looking mounted double front bush bumper guard, has the working front Warn Winch with remote operator with new cables that is in great addition. All the front lighting works, this has the bright front halogen headlights, the amber driving lights, both of the rear backup lights work, the ‘Assie’ front end makes a real great FJ ‘presence’, has the rear fender plastic protective flairs for both looks and protection. Now has the full set of 5 of the great looking polished 16×7 American Racing 12 hole alloy wheels, then the fresh Dick Cepek Extreme Country 285-75-R16 all-terrain tires that are both show detailed, with the raised shackles, Rancho heavy duty shocks and very strong springs, the stance is a bit higher than stock, this a really striking presentation plus top mechanicals.
Landcruiser design that is used and loved all over the world, Toyota full restored and newly installed cognac brown bucket seated interior that has front lap safety belts, added AM/FM radio with new custom made lower front speakers, working rear jump seats fold downs with lap safety belts. New rugged looking show front inner floor full black diamond pattern covering has been added, in addition to a rear black loop tight pile carpet that has bonded edges for the rear floor for showing. Just added full interior Line-X body spray in Febyof 2022 to waterproof the inside and provide clean look and durability to the frame, the 4 wheel drive works with two ranges as factory with the proper shift levers, mechanically, the FJ40 specs were given in this period with a famous 3.9 Liter ‘F’ (1.5) engine that has the updated oil filter, it is very strong with excellent compression, has the factory rating of 125 horsepower with very strong 189 lbs. of torque, a new uprated Weber 2v carb used with the hi-tech air filter, the header uprated exhaust system installed with approximately 135+ horsepower, this engine just purrs, see the Video posted. all the gauges with the addition of the new lower mounted new Bosch tachometer and temperature gauge added, then the systems just checked, note: the underchassis and frame of this FJ40 are in exceptional condition!!!
Very solid and so hard to find like this, lower inner fenders are painted with no undercoating, the photos now posted really do not show how very nice the chassis and frame are presented today, all cosmetics finished while making sure all the mechanicals are top notch, there is also a large file of receipts of work done through the years in keeping this is top notch condition, here is a really nice presentation that is even better when seen in person, great frame, now this ready to go on an African safari as these were built so well built, a real investment piece for a worldwide market…fun to drive…
History: these classic Land Cruisers were so accepted that 1973 marked the 300,000 unit worldwide production with the final ones being made in 1983, these were very strong vehicles to be used “in the wild” as well for use in the snow in Austria or Minnesota, these also featured these qualities along with a great design that is truly automotive investment history, really a Landmark Design, this style was built until 1983 and became a piece of automotive history with great following all over the world, this American production with the uprated build is ready for show and driving in the ‘real world’, this shows 53,300 miles that is not accurate, there are receipts in the file of some $5900 in recent work and maintenance on this restored 1974 FJ, the operation of all the systems is really outstanding.
