For Sale: 1954 Dodge Pickup in Cadillac, Michigan

Vehicle Description

1954 Dodge streetrod pickup. This was built to be a all around dependable cruiser that was unique to boot. Something that has all the good looks of a vintage vehicle, but modern enough so its easy to find parts. As you can see its satin black at the moment. The bodywork is pretty much done, but before paint you'll want to do minor things here or there. I don't have the original box, the debate has been between leaving the box that is currently on it, versus finding a original step side box. That is why its not in finished shiny paint. The interior is simple but looks good. Modern gauges in the dash, automatic with a floor shift (looks like a manual transmission), updated steering column, etc. The truck was built for comfort so it has bucket seats with a armrest. Stock seats are okay, until you want to drive 400 miles to a car show sitting on them, then your wishing for something different. I hadn't purchased these items yet, but the plan was to install door panels, carpet, and headliner after paint. The chassis is really where this pickup shines. This was a frame off build. The frame, nuts, bolts, suspension, etc sparkle. I'll be posting underside pictures shortly. With any street rod its all about the stance, so to achieve that without giving up ride quality It has a modern front end. Up front is also power disc brakes, and power steering. This has a dodge 360 v8 with a modern automatic transmission. The goal was to have something you can drive 400 miles to a car show and not have to worry about breaking down, so the motor is fairly stock just a 4 barrel and a mild cam. Something that sounds good sitting at a stoplight and that will lay you back in the seat if you get on it, but nothing too wild. Most of these old trucks were geared to work, 4:56 gears or similar, and had a top speed of about 40 mph not to mention they could never handle the horsepower and torque from these newer motors, so the original rearend was replaced by a modern one.
