For Sale: 1968 Chrysler 300 in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

There's just something about a classic Mopar that makes you pay attention, especially with this 1968 Chrysler 300 convertible. It's a big 440 V8 machine that loves to be both premium and aggressive. And it's all available right now for a value price.

A road-owning Mopar like this has a timeless style, and so it's great to have it in an enduring color like white. This is a respray from later in life, and today it has the right mix of a bright style and a driver-quality finish. It makes for a road-ready feeling that's ideal for a classic like this. It's also nice to see the fundamentals look so good. Form hugging chrome bumpers, complete trim, good action on the doors, and well-creased sheet metal show this has been respected for decades. In fact, this has basically been with the same family for nearly 30 years. And you'll likely plan on keeping it for that long, too. There were less than 2,200 examples made in 1968, and over a half-century later, we bet it will be hard to find such a complete example.

The interior has a very vintage/stock style, and so you get a nice stock feel right down to the badging on the doors and trim on the seats. A drop-top like this is terrific for offering full-size comfort and plenty of back seat room. While you can take along everyone, a car like this Chrysler 300 always makes sure the driver is a priority. That's why you have a fold-down center front seat for bucket-like comfort, and nice extras like a power convertible top and power windows (some switches/motors may need servicing.)

Another reason the 300 series cars were premium was because of big power. The only way you could get this was with the big 440 cubic-inch V8, and so it's great to see an era-correct block still under the hood. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and it makes a proper V8 tune out of the dual exhaust. This big V8 warms up to be a true cruiser, and in fact, it was driven about an hour to our showroom. And it has the right driving features for a true boulevard machine, like power steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission.

The sale comes complete with the original bill of sale, owner's manual, and maintenance records. There are details that you may want to do if you're looking for a showstopper, like a paint respray, polish the bumpers, restore the hidden headlights, or a few interior details. But the real heart of the appeal is rarity, power, and road-owning style all presented with impressive paperwork and proper care. It's one of the most affordable and complete vintage Mopar drop-tops you can get your hands on. Call now!
