For Sale: 1970 Dodge Coronet in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey

Vehicle Description

The Super Bee, a spin-off of the Dodge Coronet, was an aggressive styling take on the normal muscle car format of its time. Announced as part of the Scat Pack marketing program in 1968, the Dodge Super Bee matched the Road Runner in almost every way when it came to power and performance. The Super Bee was just a bit longer and heavier than its Plymouth counterpart, but otherwise it featured nearly identical squared-off styling, along with a range of intriguing air intake hood designs that could be specified at ordering time. In 1969 a 440 cu in engine was added and with it came 390hp output. The orgy of horsepower lasted just a single year, and although a neutered version of the Road Runner continued for a handful of years, the Super Bee was at the end of the road. In 1970 (it's final year) the Super Bee's styling took a dramatic departure with the installation of its iconic 'bumble bee wing' grille. The Super Bee now has achieved "cult status" and is very desired by Mopar muscle car aficionados. This example comes with the best of both worlds. Presently the car is tagged for street use. That being said, you could take it to the track and have a blast! Back in the day the car it was run at the track by Ralphie Green who can be found on Facebook, if you are a racing fan. It features a 440 Big Block motor, 1150 Holley Dominator Carb, 727 Automatic Transmission w/reverse valve, Nitrous bottle, Fuel Cell, Factory Mopar wiring harness, original Dana 60 rear, Brodix Aluminum Heads and one-of-a-kind Haywood fiberglass hood. The original interior features black vinyl in good condition, walnut trimmed dash with original gauges and the original headliner. The exterior is a one-time repaint in the original Sublime Green color. All floors and Quarter panels are solid and rust free. Best of All... for you purists out there, the purchase also includes the following original parts; 440 refreshed engine, 727 auto trans, drive shaft, water pump core, plus original brakes!! With the afore mentioned body and interior, this car can be brought back to original if so desired. The VIN number on the car is WM23V A117 189, confirming its Super Bee status. Needless to say, this is a tremendous package that is being offered at a very reasonable 55,000.00. please call Hank at 201-317-9277 or e-mail to [email protected].
