Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 496 Restomod is a real-deal
138-coded Super Sport finished in a full cool blue color combo. So
it has a great classic pedigree and style, but what will impress
you the most are modern investments for a terrific driver's car.
This includes the fuel-injected stroker motor, overdrive
transmission, upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a
custom interior that all upgrade this legend's muscle car
appeal.
The full build has under 2k miles on it, and so it knows how to
impress over every inch. The attractiveness starts with the paint.
The color holds close to Chevy's famous Marina Blue, and so it
looks right on this Chevelle. But the depth of the metallic finish
and high-gloss shine shows off an investment in a quality modern
application. As a real-deal Super Sport, it carries all the
aggressive touches that make this generation a muscle car icon,
including the hood vent trim, full SS badging, blackout rear panel,
ribbed rockers, and large dual exhaust tips. Plus, the straight
sheet metal, uniform panel gaps, clean glass, mirror-like bumpers,
and new weather-stripping give an overall feeling of a thoroughly
built car. And while it's a show-worthy classic those large 20-inch
polished alloys are a big hint at how much this is fun to drive,
too.
The sea of blue continues inside, and it all shows off a terrific
custom setup. It starts with the buckets up front. These have
better bolstering than anything that came out of this era for
superior comfort. The rear seats were done to match giving this a
quality and uniform style. You'll like the vintage touches, like
the loop carpeting and working dome light. But what's impressive is
the comprehensive custom style. For example, the headliner is done
with a suede-like material, and this is repeated with inserts in
the door panels and trunk. There are comfort features everyone can
appreciate, like the cup holders and a retro-style AM/FM radio with
Bluetooth. But you also know this is absolutely a driver's car at
its heart. You have the classic horseshoe shifter in the center
console, a Chevy sports steering wheel on a tilt column, and a
subtly upgraded digital gauge package.
The engine bay has clean color-matched inner fenders and firewall,
and a tidy presentation that makes it ready to show off. At the
heart is a 496 cubic-inch stroker V8. This is believed to have 5k
miles since it was built, and more than just fresh, it's powerful.
It is built with blueprint aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum
intake, and topped with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel Injection
system for both power and consistency. It also has good supporting
components, like upgraded pulleys, an MSD 6AL ignition system, and
an aluminum radiator with electric fans. The Hooker long tube
headers add power while adding to the power and rumble of the
X-pipe dual exhaust. This enhanced big block is connected to a
4L80E four-speed automatic transmission, which was engineered to
handle big power while also delivering easy overdrive cruising. As
you look underneath, you'll see suspension upgrades like Ridetech
front tubular A-arms with adjustable coilovers, and in the rear is
a stronger four-link and a Ridetech sway bar. Add in power
steering, modern sport tires, and Wilwood four-wheel power discs
brakes, and you can see why this is great for everything from
performance driving to Power Tour road trips.
