the Not-so-little Red Express! This 3rd generation General Motors
K-series truck is sure to turn heads everywhere it goes, no matter
if its Cars and Coffee or your favorite 2-track. Exterior €"
Dubbed the Rounded Line generation by General Motors (despite it's
universally known nickname, Square-Body) The first generation of
C/K trucks designed with the use of computers and wind tunnels, GM
made a real effort to increase efficiency and aerodynamics. This
example is finished in an awesome red, with chrome front bumper and
mirrors. Chrome trim and a blacked-out grill and rear bumper give
an even more aggressive appearance. Black and red theme continues
to the wheels, where they are paired with 35-inch Mickey Thompson
Baja MTZ tires. All glass is clear and free of blemishes, and all
lights are free of cracks and in working order. (To best assess the
quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the
close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.)
Interior €" The red theme carries over to the interior, where the
comfortable bucket seats provide a nice contrast to the black dash
and switchgear. An aftermarket stereo feeds a single subwoofer
behind the drivers seat. Just in front of the floor mounted 4WD
selector are a set of aftermarket auxiliary gauges. All weather
floor mats will help keep things tidy. (To best assess the quality
of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up
photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Mechanical €"
This is where this beast shines. Large lift kit allows this K1500
to clear the aggressive 35-inch tires. A 350 cubic inch V-8
provides plenty of grunt to spin the tires. That engine backs up to
an automatic transmission, 4WD transfer case and a set of beefy
axles. Mickey Thompson valve covers help spruce up the engine bay.
This GMC also features an aftermarket horn set up. While the more
than 175 high-definition photographs and the short
walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors
website showcase this 1986 GMC K1500 in detail from every angle,
including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections
at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an
appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public.
