Vehicle Description
This 1966 Ford Mustang GT Tribute has been updated to be an
all-around attractive coupe. The sleek metallic paint, bright
chrome, detailed interior, overdrive transmission, and upgraded V8
are all about a total package that fulfills true classic car
desire.
Red Mustangs always instantly attract an audience, and this one
does it one better with its factory-correct Vintage Burgundy. After
all, the taker tone gives it a hint of added sophistication. It was
resprayed as part of the car's comprehensive upgrading. That means
you get a nice metallic luster that goes well with the outstanding
chrome bumpers and brightwork trim. But this car also never loses
sight of the idea that it's a driver-ready coupe. After all, it was
given some GT-style flair with the fog lights in the grille. Plus,
the large dual exhaust tips, Ford Performance badging, and Mag 500
wheels are all part of this speedy road-ready style.
The black interior has a nice and dark style to go with the
burgundy exterior. It is clean and complete, right down to details
like the Mustang rubber floor mats and working courtesy lights. And
you'll also spot well-integrated upgrades, like how the newer
high-back bucket seats still carry the classic premium "pony"
upholstery. There are more updates that are quite handy, like power
windows, power locks, tinted windows, and cup holders. There are
also provisions for some more great features. For example, you have
upgraded speakers and a retro-style radio in place, and it will
just need some completion and possibly components to finish. This
also has the compressor and control/vents for an A/C system already
in place, so it will be easy to upgrade if you want to do so. But
what you'll love the best is the full driver-oriented style. You
not only have those upgraded bucket seats, but also an armrest
center console, a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, and a
full glowing digital gauge package.
Under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch V8. This is larger than anything
Ford offered in the Mustang for 1966, and so it feels right in this
GT tribute. It's a tidy setup, and so you can spot nice supporting
components like the serpentine belt system and MSD distributor.
This V8 inhales deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor,
and it exhales with added power and authority as headers feed into
the H-pipe dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. This was built to
be an all-around solid driver and that means upgrades like the
four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, rack & pinion
power steering, updated suspension components (including bushings),
and power brakes with discs up front.
Complete with service manuals, this is the added power, comfort,
and style you really want in a first-gen pony car. Call
