1968 MERCURY MONTEREY CONVERTIBLE CUSTOM This stunning 1968 Mercury
Monterey has been customized, giving it exciting performance and
exceptional appearance. The project began with a focus on enhancing
performance, handling and retaining the classic graceful lines and
creating an ultra comfortable "cockpit" for driver and passengers.
Drive train is sourced from Lincoln with a 460ci 365hp big block
topped with Ford Racing inscribed aluminum valve covers, a new
Holley Model 4160, 750cfm 4bbl dual inlet carburetor on an
Edelbrock Performer 460 intake. Exhaust is gated through aluminized
exhaust manifold to the dual Flowmaster mufflers and tips. Driving
is enhanced with power steering and power disc brakes. The engine
bay is nicely detailed. The interior Ivory color high back bucket
seats and center console are sourced from 1969 Marauder. The dash
features a minimalist design with speedometer and fuel gauge set in
an attractive wood trimmed surround. An auxiliary coolant
temperature gauge sits below the dash. The dash, center console and
door knobs are likewise trimmed in the wood highlights. The custom
installed Alpine AM/FM/CD/Pandora stereo with remote sits within
the stock mount location. Auxiliary speakers are positioned
throughout the interior. Steering wheel is 4 spoke wood with chrome
accent center horn button. The exterior is expertly finished in a
custom blend, resulting in this laser straight "copper" that
glistens in the sun. The tan power assisted top is unblemished and
is powered with a rebuilt power motor. A convertible boot cover
matching the interior as well as a fitted car cover is included.
All chrome is newly plated or polished to a bright shine. All glass
is clear and undamaged. The chrome spoke wheels are 17" Voxx "Old
School Torque Thrust" style mounted with Fuzion 245/45/R17 tires. A
remote with door poppers and alarm secures the investment.
Extensive receipts detailing miscellaneous new parts and work
