Vehicle Description
As traditional car manufacturers move increasingly toward
electrification, the auto industry finds itself in a brave new
world of creativity and innovation, the likes of which have not
been seen since the early twentieth century. As tech changes and
grows at an incredible pace, so does the very concept of what an EV
can do and how it can appeal to a broad range of motoring
enthusiasts. Electric vehicles of the modern era emerged as
compact, short-range city cars designed for guilt-free commuting.
As range and technology improved, many automakers unveiled
slippery, highly efficient luxury machines marketed to
environmentally conscious buyers, usually with a healthy slathering
of buzzwords likegreen, blue, andeco. When General Motors tossed its
hat in the ring, it took an altogether different approach for its
newest EV-only brand, raising more than a few eyebrows among EV
enthusiasts and internal-combustion loyalists alike. Love it or
loathe it, the first iteration of the Hummer brand from the early
2000s represented excess in just about every way. The massive H1
was little more than a thinly veiled military vehicle, while the H2
was a flamboyant, thirsty, and somewhat impractical style statement
- far removed from anything considered "green" today! So it was
indeed a surprisingly clever move for GM to revive the Hummer name
for their upcoming all-electric range. Announced in 2020 for the
2022 model year, the all-new, all-electric Hummer EV brilliantly
mirrors the bold, brash spirit of the original Hummer but in a
zero-emissions pure electric vehicle. Nearly every enthusiast has
something to love about the new, reimagined Hummer. The chunky,
aggressive styling is familiar to fans of the original, and the
spec sheet is deeply impressive. Off-roaders get all-wheel drive
with height-adjustable suspension (up to 15.9 inches of clearance),
locking diffs, selectable drive ranges, and eighteen cameras for
monitoring the trail ahead. Truck buyers get a practical cargo bed,
room for five passengers, and a 7,500-pound tow rating. The Hummer
is also a mighty performer, as the limited production Edition 1
packs athousandhorsepower from its triple-motor drivetrain and can
accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 3 seconds with "WTF Mode"
enabled. Other features include variable four-wheel steering for
maneuvering on trails or "crab-walking" into tight urban parking
spots. The Hummer can do all this and offer up to 329 miles of
range on the highway, a deeply impressive figure for a large
off-road focused vehicle. General Motors announced the GMC Hummer
EV Edition 1 on October 20, 2020, and all 1,200 were sold in the
first 10 minutes of pre-orders. Deliveries have just begun, and we
are delighted to offer one of these highly collectible Edition 1
models, presented here in new condition. As with all Edition 1s, it
is finished in white with dark-painted wheels, a two-tone
black/gray interior with unique badging, and "Easter eggs" in the
electronics. It comes standard with every available equipment
package, including the Extreme Off-Road package, which adds 35-inch
mud-terrain tires, adjustable suspension, skid plates, and rock
sliders. It also includes the CrabWalk steering system, adaptive
air suspension, Ultravision cameras, Extract mode (lifts the
suspension an additional six inches for trail use), removable roof
panels, SuperCruise semi-autonomous mode, MultiPro tailgate, and
the Watts to Freedom launch control mode. Additional options
selected on this truck included the power retractable tonneau
cover, illumination package, and Multipro Audio System by Kicker.
The owner also ordered a litany of dealer-installed accessories
including a spare tire and jack package, red emblems, first aid
kit, highway safety kit, red recovery hooks, trailer camera system,
cross bars, spare charger, and more. It is offered here with fewer
than 600 miles and is in virtually showroom-fresh condition with
all accompanying books, manuals, window sticker, charger, off-road
recovery kit, and take-off accessories. With all of the
approximately 1,200 of the thousand-horsepower GMC Hummer Edition 1
EVs spoken for, this presents an exceedingly rare opportunity to
add this highly significant piece of General Motors history to your
collection. Offers welcome and trades considered For additional
