Vehicle Description
The 347 stroker V8, custom interior, and exceptionally sporty style
all come together on this 1966 Ford Mustang. It creates a classic
where the icon you love is also a unique street machine.
This Mustang is for the bold. It has a bright red paint that just
seems to command added attention. Of course, what also gets this
one noticed is its custom style. It's quite unique to see a
first-generation Mustang upgraded with a comprehensive body kit
that includes the front valance, rear valance, and full-length
rockers. There are also billet tail light bezels, wide dual exhaust
tips, and upgraded Ridler 17-inch wheels that have a high-polish
style to match the chrome bumpers. But a lot of these upgrades were
done with a touch of vintage style, too. The dual-scoop fiberglass
hood is a design borrowed from the '67 GT350, the fog lights are
classic Mustang GT, and the integrated rear spoiler reminds us of
the California Special.
The interior is a great mix of style, comfort, and performance. The
front bucket seats show all of this. They have the classic low-back
style, but now it's an upgraded design with better bolster and cool
red contrast stitching. A matching rear seat, newer carpeting, a
smooth dash, newer door panels, and a fully finished trunk give
this the overall look of quality. There are modern comfort
upgrades, like an armrest center console, cup holders, and an
AM/FM/CD stereo with a USB input for your iPhone. The wood-rimmed
steering wheel and white-faced gauges give you an updated feeling
to the classic style. And the auxiliary readouts under the dash get
you ready for something nice under the hood.
Even the engine bay has a nice sense of style. The dark inner walls
go well with the air grabber and valve covers. And the red detail
on those go with the red engine block. It all has a fresh look
because we're told this motor was rebuilt only about 2,500 miles
ago. It's a 302 block that's said to now be a 347 cubic-inch
stroker V8. It also includes a four-barrel carburetor, an upgraded
intake, and aluminum heads. There are nice supporting components,
too, like an Optima red top battery, steel braided lines w/AN
fittings, and an aluminum radiator. The three-speed automatic
transmission has a 3400 RPM stall to make sure this upgraded motor
stays in the optimal powerband. And while this is a classic that
likes you to feel the road, it also makes sure you have enhanced
grip thanks to modern ZR-rated sport tires.
