short start-up and walk-around video, please go to our main
website: Garage Kept Motors.) In 1976, the Barrick family of
Marysville, PA was attending a local carnival where the driving-age
daughter entered $5 for a chance to win a new car. Sure enough, she
won. Her new car was a 1974 Monte Carlo. Two years later and
thoroughly impressed with his daughter's car, Mr. Kenneth Barrick
went to the local Chevrolet dealer to get a Monte of his own. On
April 9th of 1976, he stroked a check in the amount of $5,449.98
for to Sunderland Chevrolet (copy of said check in the photo
gallery) and drove the car home. Since then, the car was babied and
eventually gifted to his grandson in the early 2000's. It has been
in the family's possession since we acquired it 2022. It remains in
100% original condition with just 56,475 original miles recorded.
This Monte Carlo epitomizes the trifecta of collector grade
vehicles: ownership, mileage, and originality: Ownership - It has
been under just one family's care since new. Grandfather and
grandson. Mileage - Being 46 years old, it has only 56k miles,
which equates to only 1,200 miles behind the wheel each year.
Originality- It retains all its original body panels, factory
original Mahogany (code 37) paint, original Antique White (code 11)
Landau roof and special-order custom Red cloth interior. Everything
the same as the day Mr. Barrick drove the car home from Sunderland
Chevrolet. The Sunderland badge still proudly displayed in the
rear. Low miles, all original, and family owned €" can't beat it.
As for specifications, this '76 Monte houses its factory 305ci V8
mated to a column shifted automatic transmission. The car is rear
wheel drive and features power steering and power brakes. It also
has power door locks, beautiful wood dash trim, AM radio, and
factory Air Conditioning. It is free from rust and the
undercarriage is extremely clean. It also comes with the original
owner's manual and promotional brochure. The car has been routinely
maintained with the most recent work being a replaced power
steering pump. It starts on command and floats down the road in
style. While almost 200 photographs and the short
walk-around-and-startup video, the GKM website showcases this 1976
Monte Carlo in detail from every angle, including from below, we
expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids,
Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance
as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in
touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions. Low miles,
all original, and family owned €" can't beat this Monte Carlo.
