For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

In an era of brutal Hellcats, sensational Shelbys and mid-engine Stingrays, it's safe to say professionally built performance is alive and well. And that level of accessibility and reliability is certainly a great thing for enthusiasts and admirers alike. But what about the buyer who doesn't want the best-tailored version of a suit thousands of others can buy? You know, the person who strives to be truly one-of-a-kind. Well, they could always call up the octane junkies here at RK Motors and check out something like this exquisite Camaro resto-mod. Mixing a Mast Motorsports LS3 with five forward gears, a heavily upgraded chassis and looks that could charm da Vinci, this Chevy literally defines the phrase "timeless classic"!

MAKE CLASSIC BETTER, AND BETTER CLASSIC

A jaw-dropping pony car that mixes a modern stance with marvelous mid-'60s swagger, this stunning panther is the product of a ground-up build that was extremely thorough and exceptionally detailed. That restoration is capped by a solid body that aligns excellent panel gaps under glossy and correct LeMans Blue two-stage. That pigment is led by a familiar Super Sport Grille, which hangs traditionally clear parking lamps between a guarded bumper and modern tri-bar headlights. Behind those torches, a Camaro-branded header leads an ornate Super Sport Hood, which looks great against polished wipers and polished mirrors. Those mirrors reflect a stainless-trimmed greenhouse that's tilted under correct White vinyl. That skin coordinates well with striking Super Sport striping, which joins Standard rocker trim to parallel factory markers, factory handles and crisp fender badging. And at the back of the car, a requisite D80 spoiler shades a Super Sport fuel cap, 1968-exclusive taillights and a second guarded bumper.

MAST MOTORSPORTS POWER

What good is all that show if you can't back it up with a little go? Enact this Chevy's billet latch and expand its Detroit Speed hood supports to reveal 6.2 liters of E85-powered LS3 that was sourced directly from the pros at Mast Motorsports! At the top of that all-aluminum beast, a bright K&N XStream air cleaner feeds a muted Accufab throttle body, which is paired with a requisite Aeromotive regulator and a liquid-filled pressure gauge. A polished mid-rise intake feeds polished, large-bore heads, which tilt custom, color-keyed valve covers over a high quality Jesel valvetrain and Crane Hi Intensity roller lifters. A Lunati 4-inch crank spins asymmetrical JE pistons and Callies Ultra rods at the sides of a custom-grind cam. Coated American Racing headers thread short MSD plug wires and custom aluminum motor mounts. Charge comes courtesy of a polished alternator, which joins a polished AC compressor and a color-keyed water pump behind a polished Concept One serpentine drive. Cooling is provided by a polished radiator, which is paired with twined DCM puller fans. Everything communicates well thanks to FAST XFI engine management. The car's glossy engine bay is decked with niceties like a polished master cylinder, Fesler brace bars and a Ringbrothers clutch reservoir. Excellent detailing includes stainless lines, a billet wing nut and tough ARP bolts. And, according to this choice Chevy's owner, it all adds up to around 700 horsepower!

MAKE GOOD BETTER, AND BETTER BEST

Park this classic on a lift and you'll find a substantially enhanced chassis that's prepped, primed and ready to roll. A tough Tremec 5-speed turns a dressed 12-bolt axle that's mild enough to conquer any highway. That proven driveline pushes an aftermarket 4-link, which squares tubular bars around requisite mini tubs and adjustable coil-overs. That clips gets led by a traditional independent front-half, which wraps a big Hotchkis sway bar around tubular control arms. Tight turns come courtesy of a power-assisted AGR gearbox. Polished Baer calipers squeeze 24 pistons of stopping power around a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Large-diameter exhaust stretches clean ceramic coating around familiar Mandrel bends and deep MagnaFlow mufflers. Handsome Intro Retros spin 235/35ZR19 Toyo Proxes in front of 345/25ZR20 Toyo Proxes. And the build's excellent detailing is carried through welded subframe connectors and a big stainless fuel tank.

CLASSICALLY SIMPLE

Pop the lightweight doors and you'll find a tastefully tweaked interior that continues this Camaro's striking visuals. Front and center, correct Deluxe Bucket Seats sport correct Blue hides. In front of those thrones, a lightly modified dash hangs factory telemetry, complete with a cool Tic-Toc-Tach, above direct-fit audio and a convenient FAST controller. Plush carpet frames billet foot pedals next to a factory console that's built with four-pack accessory gauges and a leather-tinged Hurst shifter. Correct Deluxe Door Panels add a dash of style. Modern air conditioning keeps everything cool. And the driver spins a polished and bowtie-branded steering wheel around a serious shift light.

Built for folks who like to show and go, this Camaro is the perfect opportunity to own a tasteful, lights-out classic that's virtually unmatched in performance and appeal. The car looks absolutely timeless. And with a roster of top notch equipment that's already carefully spec-d and seamlessly assembled, it's a one-way ticket to instant gratification!
