1949 Buick Roadmaster Fastback

First hitting the streets in 1931, the Series 80 from Buick was the introduction of a luxury sedan with an eight cylinder engine.  1936 saw the Roadmaster name added to the model lineup of cars.  1949 saw the first major post-war re-styling and the introduction of the “VentiPorts”, of which four adorned the top of the line Roadmaster.

 

The 1949 Buick Roadmaster Fastback presented at auction is custom built and features:

 

  • 500 ci Cadillac engine built by Diablo Machine Hayward CA.
  • Turbo 400 trans
  • 9” ford rear end w/triangulated 4 bar suspension
  • “Fatman” drop spindles 
  • “Painless” wiring harness
  • New upholstery and headliner
  • “PPG Metallic purple paint
  • All chrome has been redone or polished
  • Flowmaster” 3” chamber exhaust 
  • New gas tank
  • “Cooling Components” electric fan and shroud
  • New Radiator
  • Pioneer sound system
