Vehicle Description
We love GM cars touched by SLP, because they know how to add
performance and do it in small batches. That's why you should get
excited about this 1996 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Comp T/A. It's an
ultra low-mileage sports car modified by SLP under the blessing of
GM, and the affordable price will make you do a double-take on a
coupe that's believed to be only 1 of 164 ever made!
The Comp T/A is a pretty cool car. They only came in Bright Silver
Metallic, because they were celebrating the 25th anniversary of the
BF Goodrich Comp T/A tires. So now you understand the car's special
name and color. And you probably also understand why the special
racing stripe almost looks like a burnout with its cool black fade.
While this classic has passed the quarter-century mark, it hasn't
even reached 3k miles on the odometer yet. We're told it's only a
two-family car, and everyone was friends. In fact, it was first
purchased by a father for his daughter because she was born in
1996. So it was in climate-controlled storage for decades waiting
for her to be old enough to enjoy it. She didn't drive it and sold
the car to a family friend who has been admiring it for years. And
the reason the right people have held this Pontiac in high esteem
is that the history of these cars is exactly what you want. SLP's
additions were done under GM's authority, they did not void the
factory warranty and could be ordered through the right Pontiac
dealerships almost like a factory package. However, it was not easy
to get the right orders allocated to SLP, and therefore, the total
production is only believed to be 164 over a three-year run.
The graphite gray interior goes well with the silver exterior, and
the T-tops mean you can show off this full package to the world.
Plus, cold-blowing air conditioning means you can keep this open to
the world even in the summer without breaking a sweat. This special
T/A also came loaded with the best factory features, like power
windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control, a cup
holder center console, dual airbags, power steering, and a premium
AM/FM/CD stereo with seven-band equalizer. The leather bucket seats
up front look great, and they have power lumbar support to be
all-day comfortable. That combines with the sports steering wheel
on a tilt column and full gauges to make for a great driving
package. So you'll likely quickly add to the low odometer.
The engine bay is just as much a time capsule as the rest of the
car, right down to the decals. SLP worked their magic on the
5.7-liter LT1, including the air induction and high-flow exhaust
for an advertised 310 horsepower in 2006. And the six-speed manual
transmission puts you in the center of all the action. Plus, not
only did SLP upgrade the handling, but there's also a Bilstein
shock package. Add in four-wheel power disc brakes and this is a
fun performance machine that's also an all-around good driver.
The sale comes complete with the build sheet, dealer invoice, loan
info, warranty pamphlet, and docs case w/keychain. This is rarity,
power distinction, and a great story all offered for an affordable
price. Call today!!!
