This 1986 Jeep CJ7 has attractive colors, rugged equipment, and
plenty of additions in both style and substance. So you can see
there has been a solid investment all around this 4x4 to make it
one of the most attractive go-anywhere machines you can get your
hands on right now.
The striking shade of yellow is an even application that retains a
good luster and plenty of shine. The chrome also looks bright on
pieces like the grille, side mirrors, and polished wheels
(including the full-size on the spare on the swing-away mount.)
While we love the brightness of this one, it also makes for a nice
way to show off all the ruggedness in the contrasting dark side.
You see it on the Rugged Ridge metal side steps and flared fenders.
And the black tubular steel bumpers are particularly nice. The
front has an integrated brush guard and auxiliary lights, and the
rear includes a trailer hitch. There are also stone guards for the
lights, soft doors, and a soft top (Soft top will need some
installation hardware). It makes for an attractive and useful total
package.
The color theme switched inside where black is the main color,
while yellow is used for accents. Not only does this look quite
clean, but it's also ready for the outdoor lifestyle. That means
liner paint on the floor, newer seat covers in durable vinyl, and a
more comprehensive roll cage with a fire extinguisher mounted on
it. The high-back front bucket seats are adjustable units that have
a ton of comfort to make for a good driver's feeling. You also have
a classic Jeep sports steering wheel on a tilt column, a floor
shifter, and a dash dominated by clear gauges.
Jeep's hardy 258 cubic-inch inline-six is under the hood. It has a
particularly clean and tidy style we don't see on all Jeeps... and
the same goes for the undercarriage. So it gives this one a
well-respected and cared for impression. And that feeling continues
with the way the motor fires up and runs. Plus, you take firm
control of it all with the five-speed manual transmission. It has
good anytime driving features like power steering, power brakes,
and front discs. And when the pavement ends, the two-speed 4x4
transfer case and all-terrain tires mean this CJ knows how to keep
going.
This was the final year for the CJ, and this example has been given
the right investments to take you further and look great doing it.
