This 1982 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4x4 has a tall off-road stance,
removable hardtop, and proper V8 power. But while this is both mean
and capable, there have also been nice updates like an overdrive
transmission, modern seating, and fresh/sleek paint. It all makes
for an attractive total package.
The blocky stance of the K5 gives it an instant authoritative look.
Of course that gets turned up a few notches as the lift kit takes
this one up into the sky. In fact, you can really see that this one
will be quite capable when the pavement ends with big 17-inch
Raceline wheels and 35-inch Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires. But
there's more going on here. There was a respray in metallic gray in
April 2022. It does a great job of showing off the clean body lines
and now even color matches the hardtop. A clean grille, bright
chrome bumpers, and even brighter LED headlights give this the full
look of style and substance.
The interior is built to be useful. It starts with upgraded front
bucket seats with modern bolstering. You also have a sports
steering wheel, power locks, a smooth dash, full carpeting, and LED
lighting. There are also provisions for nice details like power
windows (it will need servicing) and factory air conditioning (it
will need components.) The rear seat is deleted. So it's an ideal
place to store cargo, or when you take off the roof, it really
makes for the ultimate tailgater.
Under the hood is the 350 cubic-inch motor. It has a bright block
and polished component to show off its upgraded nature. This 350
cubic-inch V8 has been enhanced with an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding a throaty dual
exhaust. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case works with all those
off-road enhancements to really keep you going long after the
pavement ends. And as you look underneath, you can see a good
investment in newer components. So you have a stout one for
off-road work. And no matter where you go, you'll appreciate power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and the upgrade to a 700R4
four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
