In 2005 Ford revived the Shelby nameplate with a high-performance variant of the 5th generation Mustang. The Shelby American version of the Shelby GT was first made available on the 2014 model and included a unique set of exterior modifications which includes the front splitter conversion, a GT500 rear spoiler and quarter glass covers. It was equipped with a fiberglass hood to save weight and Le Mans stripes were added for some curb appeal. It is equipped with a 5.8 Liter supercharged V8 that produces 662 horsepower and belongs to an elite club of 200+ mph cars. This legend from Shelby American is capable of doing 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Behind the engine is a 6 speed manual transmission riding on an SVT engineered Bilstein suspension that is stopped with 6 piston Brembo brake calipers and 15” rotors. All Shelby’s come with Ford’s SYNC and this one has the upgraded with the Shaker Pro Audio system. Other options include the SVT package, electronics package and the track package.
