FOR ADVENTURE! Following two long-running generations of Volkswagen
Transporters built since 1949, the T3 Vanagon debuted for 1979 and
as before, continued to utilize a forward-control, rear-engine
layout. An incredibly versatile vehicle, the T3 Vanagons name was a
palindrome for Van and Wagon and as before, the boxy vehicles were
immediately popular in VWs far-flung international markets. Known
by a number of local names, the T3 came in several variations
including passenger and cargo vans, Westfalia campers, and single-
and double-cab pickup body styles. Powered by numerous air-cooled
Flat-4 gasoline engines, Vanagons stirred a minor revolution with
the debut of the liquid-cooled Wasserboxer by mid-1983. Further
running updates included progressively larger-displacement and
more-powerful gasoline engines and thrifty Diesels throughout T3
production, which continued to 1991 at VWs Hannover, Germany
factory and in 1992 by Daimler-Steyr-Puch at Graz, Austria, where
these vehicles were produced for government and military use. This
late-production 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon is simply outstanding
throughout, clearly benefiting from single ownership from new to
2016 in South Carolina and obviously meticulous care throughout its
lifetime. The original 101k-mile odometer reading is supported by
the clean Carfax accompanying the sale of the vehicle. Featuring
the original paint and interior, the Vanagon is powered by a 2.1L
water-cooled Flat-4 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission, with
features and options including factory air conditioning, power
brakes and steering, factory power-adjustable and swiveling front
bucket seats, a large body-colored drivers side mirror, rear-window
defroster, factory side awning, and AM/FM radio. In addition to the
aforementioned clean Carfax report, this choice Vanagon includes a
tool kit, roadside jack, and lug wrench. Freshly serviced and
detailed, this exceptionally nice 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon is ready
for continued enjoyment. Contact us to see it in person, get full
