Vehicle Description
When a classic 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4 is nothing but bright
white and chrome, you're already going to take notice. But when
this is also a 4x4 with a big V8 and plenty of comfort added, you
soon realize that this is a lot of truck for the money.
In 1978, the Ranger package was about showcasing an upgraded and
very stylish pickup. That's why you're looking at an impressive
full trim package, wide chrome bumpers, and square headlights
(lower models had the round ones in '78.) The original Wimbledon
White paint has been given a quality respray within the last year,
so the it really loves to radiate in the sunshine. And while this
one has a great classic look and straight sheetmetal, we all know a
truck like this is about so much more. You're already checked out
the lifted suspension and chunky tires on the 15-inch alloy wheels
that are just begging to go beyond where the pavement ends. Plus,
there's even a trailer hitch, so your adventure can include the
camper, boat, or whatever else you want to do that weekend.
Inside is a sea of blue with a bright dash, taut door panels, and a
newly covered bench seat. They have made this a nice place to spend
some time. It even includes nice upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo
with USB input to plug in your phone. There are also provisions for
R134a air conditioning. But in a truck like this, your favorite
feature will just be sliding open the rear glass. When combined
with the side vent windows, it provides the kind of old-school
breezes through the cab that only a classic pickup can provide.
This is a big truck, but fortunately, there's a big V8 to move it
around. The 400 cubic-inch V8 is not only a desirable powerhouse,
but also this one is believed to be original to the pickup. You can
spot plenty of newer components and signs of a recent tune up. The
V8 inhales deeply though a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it
exhales with authority out of the dual exhaust. The motor fires up
with confidence and runs like a dependable truck should. The
two-speed transfer case is great for 4x4 duty, and the Rough
Country suspension upgrades are really enjoyed here. And the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes make this a package that's great for on or off the road.
This is the classic truck that still gets the job done, and it
looks terrific doing it. So if you love the right combination of
distinction and ability, call today!
