a piece of Motown History? What we have here is James Brown?s
personal car, a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E. Yes, that James Brown, the
Godfather of Soul Music and The Sex Machine. This was Brown?s
personal car from 1993 until 2002 when it was passed down to his
granddaughter. It was purchased from his estate shortly after
Brown?s death in 2006. The compact executive sedan was then
relocated to the Augusta Museum of History in Georgia, alongside a
singed guitar. This car is not just a piece of automotive history,
but also of music history. Dressed in Black Pearl (code DB199), the
car?s paint and trim are in great condition overall. The bodywork
is straight and solid and the cargo area looks great. The Benz?s
body-colored bumpers fit tightly to the body. This Benz rolls on
Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials, size P195/60R15 at all four corners.
Each one rides on a factory alloy wheel. The wheels are in good,
original order while the tires are in very good order. Under the
hood is an eight-valve version of the 2.3L four-cylinder engine
(code M102.985) with a Remus exhaust and Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel
injection. Backing this motor is a four-speed automatic
transmission (code W4A 020) with a limited-slip differential. The
ASD is an electronically controlled, hydraulically locking
differential which activates automatically when required. The
electronic control allows varied amounts of differential lock from
the standard 15 percent right up to 100 percent. It is not a
traction control system however and can only maximize traction
rather than prevent wheel spin. As expected, driver convenience
features are long on this car ? air-conditioning(blows, but not
cold), power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc
brakes, power windows, power locks, power sideview mirrors, cruise
control and power front seats. Inside, the car?s black leather
interior is great, as is the matching carpeting. The headliner is a
contrasting gray. The big steering wheel is ready for a new road
trip. The instrument panel and inner door liners are all in very
good order and the dash has full instrumentation. The center
console and console shifter look great. An aftermarket AM/FM stereo
with CD player rounds out the interior. James Brown has more No. 1
hits than anyone except Elvis Presley. His chart toppers include,
?I Feel Good,? ?Papa's Got a Brand New Bag,? ?Say it Loud? and ?Sex
Machine.? Just feel the excitement and rhythm when you sit behind
the wheel of this feel good machine. A collection of James Brown
CDs, posters, photos, etc. included. A beautiful, personally
autographed guitar is also included. Competition to this Mercedes
in 1992 includes Acura?s Integra, BMW?s 318i, Chrysler?s LeBaron,
Infiniti?s G20 and Lexus? ES 300. If you really want a piece of
