Vehicle Description
A 1977 International Scout II Rallye is already an interesting
treat. But when you see an exciting example that gives you, fresh
paint, fuel-injected V8 power, an A/C interior, four-wheel disc
brakes, and a cool pickup body (converted from an original Scout
II) you know you're looking at a beautifully restored 4x4 that
won't stick around here long.
We love International Harvester Scouts a little more than the other
convertible 4x4s out there just because you know they represent
old-school toughness. After all, you had to get them from the same
dealer that was selling robust industrial equipment. And this one
seems to represent that feeling perfectly. It looks like a rugged
machine with its tall stance, trailer hitch rear bumper, and liner
paint in the bed. Plus, there's a rugged front bumper with a bull
bar, KC lights, and an integrated winch. More than just usefulness,
they made an investment in style. This is a fresh restoration,
including new paint in 2022. So the bright orange is a modern and
sleek application that loves to radiate in the sunshine. And the
full stripe package of this Rallye edition is painted on for
permanence. So it looks excellent against the coordinating white
hardtop.
The interior is a well-done mix of vintage and new. The dash has a
stock look with all the correct gauges. Plus, clean door panels, a
smooth dash pad, IH floor mats, and the classic steering wheel are
all part of the attractively classic style. Even the courtesy
lights greet you when the door opens. But this restoration was also
about adding the right elements. Those high-back bucket seats have
the kind of bolstering that no one was giving you in the 1970s. The
rugged liner paint on the floor is especially nice when the hardtop
is off and you're open to the world. And when this one is out in
nature, you can still keep cool thanks to R134a air conditioning.
And the EFI controller next to the floor shifter let you know
you'll love what's under the hood.
The motor has the same red look as a classic IH block, but the real
secret here is that it's a new 350 cubic-inch crate V8. This even
has an MSD electronic fuel injection system for the best in power
and consistency. It's supported by the best pieces, like an
aluminum radiator with electric fan, a Powermaster performance
starter, a new wiring harness, and an Optima red top battery. And
while you'll love the sound of the dual exhaust, you should also
check out its path in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see a
complete and fresh style. The V8 is mated to a three-speed
automatic transmission for easy driving. Plus, the power steering
and upgraded four-wheel power discs brakes add to this easy cruiser
feeling. And while this fresh restoration looks like it has not yet
left the pavement, you know the proper two-speed transfer case
gives you true 4x4 ability.
You've always admired that cool adaptability where this Scout is
just as comfortable out camping in the wild, as it is as a
convertible cruising the boulevards. So when you can find a rare
Rallye pickup restored to be awesome, then you know you have to act
fast. Call today!!!
