Vehicle Description
This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute Convertible has exactly
what you want. You have upgraded big block power, a bright/inviting
interior with an awesome sound system, and an upgraded driving
experience featuring a five-speed and four-wheel disc brakes. It
makes for the kind of classic that you just know is perfect for you
to get up early for cars & coffee and then just spend the rest of
the day cruising.
This car was given a frame-off restoration only about ten years
ago, and it may have gone as few as 5k miles since then. This mix
of modern investment and good care is instantly noticeable. For
example, silver may be a timelessly attractive color, but this
application has a deep gloss and smooth feel that is unmistakably a
modern high-quality application. There was the right attention paid
to this one where not only the chrome bumpers were made to shine
brightly but also the little details, like the vent windows look
terrific, too. And the white top is an inspired choice to give a
premium appearance. It's upgraded with the right Super Sport
pieces, like the full badging, backout grille, blackout rear panel,
ribbed rockers, and the vent trim hood. This car is a looker, but
it also makes sure you know it's a driver. The upgrade to Coys
wheels is a great example. They have an awesome shine and an
intimidating stance with the 18/20-inch front/rear stagger. And
these also allow you to fit better brakes and tires for real use
out on the streets.
With the flip of a switch, the crisp white roof powers down to
reveal a nice white interior. So you get a striking contrast
against the bright silver with the top up or down. This upgrade was
also mindful, and so high traffic areas like the carpet and door
tops were done in black (another reminder that this is thoughtfully
done to be a car that wants to be enjoyed.) There are plenty of
vintage details, like the bright trim in the seatbacks, sporty
wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a clock in the center console. But
as a true driver, there are also the right upgrades to let you
enjoy this to the fullest. The vintage radio is on display, but
neatly installed below it is a modern AM/FM/CD stereo with
Bluetooth. It's your gateway to a fully upgraded speaker system,
including the subwoofer in the trunk. And when you see the
column-mounted tach and extra great on the Hurst shifter, it gets
you ready for something special under the hood.
Under the hood is a very clean and mean powerhouse. The badging
might say 396, but this is actually a larger 454 cubic-inch big
block V8. And this one proudly displays its extra power and plenty
of upgrades. This includes Edelbrock aluminum heads, an Edelbrock
aluminum intake, cast Chevrolet valve covers, and topped with a
Holley four-barrel carburetor. You'll even spot good supporting
components, like the MSD coil and an aluminum radiator. And the
headers add even more power as they let this freely exhale into the
dual exhaust and Dynomax mufflers. Best of all, you are in firm
control of the power and soundtrack thanks to the upgraded
five-speed manual transmission. Plus, there's power steering, a
rear sway bar, the grip of modern sport tires, and a four-wheel
power disc brakes package with drilled & slotted rotors.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, build receipts,
and restoration photos. This is a beautifully restored Chevelle
convertible that has the power and poise to make you love the
drive. This is a total package drop-top classic that you don't want
to let slip away. Call now!
