Vehicle Description
"Originally designed to compete with the Volkswagen Beetle, the
Corvair actually followed the Bug's lead by ditching its radiator
and installing an air-cooled, horizontally-opposed, flat-six engine
in back. The majority of 1965-69 models carried a 2.7-liter
powerplant that produced 90-140 horsepower, mated to a three-speed
or four-speed manual transmission or Powerglide automatic." -

This 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible was originally bought
from Lew Williams Chevrolet Center in Sacramento California and
from best accounts has lived its life in warm dry climates which
accounts for its rust-free body and clean underside. This two-owner
car is featured in its original color of Cortez Silver with black
interior and a black convertible top. This Corvair presents very
well with the exception of the seams splitting on the driver's seat
which is shown in the photographs. The remainder of the interior
presents without any excessive wear.
Open the rear hood and you will find the heart of this car which is
a six-cylinder motor with 4-single barrel carburetors producing 140
horsepower. The front trunk area with the spare tire mounted and
the engine bay with the fire proofing intact are extremely well
detailed. Within the engine bay you will also find a functioning
air conditioning system which is a rare feature on a Corvair.
With a pump of the gas and the turn of the key the engine comes to
life and powers this Corvair down the road as it shifts through the
automatic transmission. Whether heading to a car show or just a
relaxing cruise this Corvair can provide the ride.
