Vehicle Description
A 1999 Ford F-150 Lightning SVT with its supercharged V8 is already
exciting, but you can tell there's much more going on here. It's a
thoughtfully done full custom build that has fully modified the
body, an award-worthy engine bay, an adjustable air ride
suspension, and delivers the best in comfort. So if you were
looking to attend some major car shows, you need this low-mileage
custom truck.
This was the first year for the supercharged Lightning. Ford tried
their best to get the F-150 to look like a sports car, but it
didn't have the no-expense-spared budget like this build. There was
a major investment in the body with a chopped and raked roofline, a
custom rear window enclosure, and the bed was lengthened to fill in
the gap with the cab. Deleted door handles, a flush-mounted third
brake light, Lexus side mirrors, and color-matched tonneau add to
the sleekness. Plus, you're going to want to take time looking at
the rear. The tailgate was seamlessly molded into the bed, the
bumper was fully integrated, and now the gas cap is hidden behind
the tail light. This is a very thoughtful and unique truck. But
since this was the inaugural year for a significant SVT, the total
package never tries to lose that classic Lightning spirit. The
exclusive front bumper, billet grille, side exhaust tips, polished
SVT, and other details retain a stock style. Even the correct
Vermilion Red paint was retained over any customization. But the
way the adjustable air ride suspension lets you dial-in an awesome
stance that makes sure no one will ever mistake this one for a
stock hauler.
The remote door openers show off the cool suicide doors. It's your
gateway to a special interior. The ultra-low original mileage on
the odometer may not seem to matter as much outside because it's
such a custom creation, but when you get inside, you can really see
the difference. Some vehicles get more than 3,600 miles on the
odometer in the first few months, and so this custom classic has a
factory-fresh style inside. So you see the awesome detailing in the
bucket-style seats with black leather inserts and SVT logos
embossed in the back. And whenever you need to carry a third
person, the center armrest folds up for the handy jump seat. One of
the reasons you don't need to improve on the original interior is
because these came loaded. This includes air conditioning, power
windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt steering column, power
steering, dual airbags, AM/FM stereo with cassette, and a power
driver's seat. The white-faced SVT gauge package has a speedometer
that reads to 140 mph, and it's rumored that Ford even got more
than that out on its test track!
The motor is what made the Lightning so special, and so a custom
like this makes sure it's ready to be put on display. That full
airbrushed mural on the inside of the hood will be a true beacon to
invite others to come check out the engine bay. Over twenty-five
components were removed and sent for plastic chrome, and the lines
are now steel braided with AN fittings. Even the supercharger was
specially chromed. It sits atop the 5.4-liter fuel-injected V8 to
make for a seriously powerful pickup. As you look underneath, you
can see the difference of a clean low-mileage build. You'll also
spot some nice upgrades like the tubular front A-arms and the Borla
mufflers. And while this one has barely done break-in miles, it
remains a terrific driver. It includes a heavy-duty four-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive, power steering, and
four-wheel power disc brakes with ABS.
We know you're going to be showing this one off everywhere. That's
why the sale even comes with a display stand. There's also a
restoration photo book and build receipts. Lightning rarely strikes
twice, especially when you're driving a one-of-a-kind. Call
