This was a trade for a Classic Car. I am a Harley rider, myself, so it was out of my wheelhouse. In truth, I am impressed. 2006 Yamaha Road Star Trike.
The 1700cc V-twin has great power and torque. It sounds great, almost like a Harley. I pulls hard and runs great.
The Champion Trike kit, when new, was over $10,000. Plus the cost of installation. It has a solid rear axle, belt drive, alloy wheels and a nice fiberglass body. There is a rear trunk, Tour Pak trunk and luggage racks. The Installation manual is in the Tour Pak.
The Road Star had the big engine, 5 speed transmission and Laced front wheel. This bike has nice accessories like a crash bar, highway pegs, floor boards, passenger floor boards, cup holder, phone holder, windshield, fork fairings, fork pouch, charger plug, light visors, throttle lock, clock, trip meter and heel/toe shifter.
The red and black paint is in very good condition with very few minor defects. The chrome is excellent. The seat has no rips or unsightly flaws.
I feel very comfortable driving this bike. It is in great condition, runs great and looks great. It has been driven just over 36000 miles, yet performs flawlessly.
The cost of the Trike conversion kit is more than my asking price. If you seek a Trike and have a limited budget, this is a great deal for you.
