For Sale: 1963 Chevrolet Corvair in HAYFORK, California

Vehicle Description

1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder

Fully restored turbo Spyder with less than 10 miles driven since finished.  Every inch of this vehicle has been examined, cleaned, repaired, and or replaced.  New windshield & rubber gaskets, fuzzies & all window seals were replaced on all glass.  New chrome bumpers, door handles, and side & interior mirrors.  Complete interior replacement including new glovebox, dome light, armrests, window & door cranks/levers.  New padded dash. New retro-look blue tooth radio w/dual speaker.  New wood-grained steering wheel w/ custom spyder horn button.  Original steering wheel retained for the buyer.  The original owner had the rare fuel-burning cabin heater system dealer-installed in the trunk. The factory heat off engine system is also intact.  Both systems are ducted together & can be operated independently or simultaneously.  Both dash controls are properly located.  Both systems have been refurbished and rebuilt. Fuel-burning heat unit has been upgraded with an independent fuel pump & filter.  This is the only Corvair Spyder I have ever known of that contains both heating systems. New master cylinder and wheel cylinders rebuilt.  New rubber brake lines and some hard lines were replaced.  Fuel tank removed and re-sealed.  New sending unit gasket.  New head temp & turbo boost gauges.  New light control and ignition switch.  New glovebox key mechanism.  New turn light switch & cable.  New turn signal canceling mechanism and cam replaced.  Driver seat adjustment extender installed.  New halogen headlights installed.  New headlight adjusters.  New front/rear turn signal / backup lenses replaced.  New trunk and engine rubber gaskets were replaced.  New engine air seals were replaced.  Lower trunk & driver/front passenger floor pans replaced.  Rebuilt rear axle bearing assemblies.  Replaced bad zerk fittings and lubed.  New clutch assembly w/ new T/O bearing. Installed welded flywheel.  Rebuilt starter & upgraded internally regulated voltage alternator.  New front sway bar bushings.  New front & rear shocks.  New tires and VTO 16" rims.  205 45 R16 tires in front replicate the original tire height.  205 50 R 16 rear tires are slightly taller than original, giving the car a more eye-appealing stance as well as slightly lower rpm at higher speeds.  Original rims & tires have been retained for the buyer. Front-wheel bearings/seals replaced.  All-wheel alignment.  New horn.  Transmission, differential cleaned, inspected with new seals & gaskets replaced where needed. New shift linkage bushing. New backup light switch & tunnel rear boots.  Original turbo engine case.  The engine was completely rebuilt utilizing chrome rings.  All new gaskets & seals. Side draft Carter carburetor rebuilt.  Reconditioned turbo installed.  Upgraded cylinder heads installed with deep valve seats & upgraded components. Viton pushrod seals.  Upgraded electronic fuel pump with pressure regulating valve.  Electronic ignition. New idler pulley and belt.  New plugs, cap, rotor & wires. 2-stage exterior paint job.  This has been a lifelong hobby for me to restore mostly air-cooled vehicles one at a time.  Most, like this one, take 2 years to complete.  I have been retired for almost 6 years & I work on a restoration job virtually at least a few hours every day.  Corvairs are my favorite.  My previous resto. was a '74 VW Beetle I personally delivered to the owner of  Performance Roofing in St. Louis, Mo.  It was recently used at a wedding of a family member.  This car has been returned to "Like-new" condition inside and out.  Thousands of dollars & hundreds of hours invested.  This car is a relic and a preserved piece of history to admire and watch increasingly rise in value for years to come..
