The Camaro has been a part of the Brickyard 400 NASCAR race at
Indianapolis Motor Speedway since the very first race in August
1994. In the summer of 2001, a special car was designed for the
Brickyard 400 - the Z7D. This Camaro was the lead "Pace Car" driven
by Kim Smith of Arelco on Race Day in August 2002.
Standard equipment on the Z7D:
Cruise, remote trunk release, fog lamps, power door lock, power
windows, remote mirrors, leather wrapped steering wheel w/radio
controls, keyless entry, theft deterrent alarm system, power
driver's seat, monsoon 500 watt AM/PM Stereo with CD and 8
speakers, SS Performance package which included 325 HP, Forced air
induction hood, 17" painted aluminum wheels, SS specific badging.
The Brickyard 400 package included the bucket seats with leather
trimmed surfaces and acceleration slip regulation.
