1965 Chevrolet Corvette Frame-On Restored Coupe
Car History
America's only true sports car, the Corvette, got subtle
refinements in the body in 1965 that continued to make it the car
many owners had to have.
We have a high-quality frame-on restored 1965 Corvette Coupe here
at Adventure Classic Cars that has the numbers matching 327-365
horsepower small block Chevrolet engine, 4-speed manual
transmission, with air conditioning, making it one very rare and
collectable Corvette!
Engine & Drivetrain
This Corvette has the original numbers-matching 327, per the engine
stamping number F0628HK stamped on the engine block, that is a 365
horsepower option that had a manual transmission, and with air
conditioning, which ours has.
It has what appears to be everything under the hood just as it was
back when it was new including the Chevy Orange paint on the engine
block and heads, original chrome ignition shielding and air
cleaner, correct finned valve covers with Corvette script, factory
A/C system, factory exhaust manifolds that flow into the throaty
side-pipes, aluminum intake, Holley performance carb, H.D.
radiator, and backed by a Muncie 4-speed and a correctly restored
chassis with all the right parts.
The 1965 is a great year to own because standard 4-wheel discs
arrived on the Corvette and ours also have the beautiful knock-off
alloys and Goldline tires for a correct look.
Interior
This Sting Ray has what seems to be the original correct code #414
blue vinyl interior that the Sting Ray had that offers a completely
luxurious driving environment. For 1965, the interior features new
trim of durable expanded vinyl with a more subtle texture in blue
to match the body color.
It has individual twin bucket-type seats that have a factory
bolster-like design for more seating comfort and better lateral
support and the blue theme extends to the carpet, door panels, and
dual sun visors as well as floormats.
The blue matching instrument panel has controls for the
air/heater/defroster located on it along with the electrical clock
and radio controls and vent controls that are located under the
instrument panel on each side of the steering column.
It has a matched speedometer and tachometer that are the primary
instruments in the Sting Ray with an electrical fuel gauge,
electrical coolant temperature gauge, ammeter, and an oil pressure
gauge.
It also has the head-light switch, cigarette lighter, head-lamp
retractor switch, hood release, and four-position ignition switch
that completes the instrument panel with the great factory wood
steering wheel also.
Exterior
The styling changes on our 1965 Sting Ray were beautiful and ours
has been restored and repainted in a correct Nassau Blue, (code FF)
paint verified by the Trim Tag, to gain back that as new original
beauty.
The styling on our 1965 Sting Ray is beautiful with the louvers
behind the front wheels that help increase air flow through the
engine compartment, giving it both an aggressive and sophisticated
look, the Corvette and Stingray emblems, chrome front and rear
bumpers, taillights, door handles, the flip-up gas cap, side gills,
and it still retains the original aggressive stance.
Conclusion
Every once in a while you may find a Blue Chip investment
matching-numbers mid-year Corvette. This one landed in our
showroom.
This gorgeous 1965 Corvette carries its original, numbers-matching
