A cool color combo, nice features, and a strong running nature all
mean this 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle is an ideal timeless classic
that's easy to enjoy.
This VW is crossing the half-century threshold to be a very cool
classic. But while some cars have a history that's a mystery, this
one is a little better known. We're told the consignor bought this
Beetle from a family friend who had owned it since the early 1990s.
So it has been in well-respected care for over half its life thus
far. This level of respect is shown in the details where the body
panels are quite good, and the trim is clean and complete. There's
a nice shine to the bumpers, hub caps, dual exhaust tips, and more,
but overall, this one just likes to be a very correct and classic
Bug. That's why the factory-correct Brilliant Orange still keeps a
touch of its glow-in-the-dark vibrancy, but it makes sure to have
the overall relaxed finish that's daily driver kind of easy.
The black interior looks good against the orange exterior. The full
presentation has a nice classic look, but you can also feel it has
been given the right fresher investments in the quality of the door
panels, carpeting, upholstery, and the other fundamentals. Even the
AM radio is still in the dash as a display. You have
driver-oriented features, like the high-back bucket seats, floor
shifter for the four-speed, stylish single VDO gauge, and grippy
steering wheel with the Wolfsburg crest in the center. And there
are nice details, like the added pop-out rear windows and a clean
carpeted trunk for the larger Super Beetle.
In the rear is the classic Volkswagen powerplant. This 1600cc motor
was the largest displacement from the series, and this is the
desirable one with dual port heads. It also has newer investments
in pieces, like the Solex carburetor, blue Bosch coil, and EMPI
distributor. So you have a motor that's famous for being hardy that
also has been given investment to keep it a strong runner. That's
why this example makes for such a good driver. You also have the
Super Beetle's updated front suspension, and the upgraded stopping
power of front disc brakes.
This is the bright orange Beetle that's celebrating its golden
anniversary. And it has the good care and strong-running nature
that makes it a terrific driver's classic. Call today!!!
