Vehicle Description
This 1989 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a pretty special custom truck
with sleek paint, an upgraded leather interior, and serious big
block power. So it's impressive you can get the full package for
such an affordable price.
We love what this truck represents. It's been made similar to the
factory 454 SS, but since they took the time to upgrade this
pickup, they also took the time to add plenty of unique style. The
paint is a metallic blue borrowed from the 2016 Silverado's color
palette. The later application gives you a deep color with a nice
shine. It's an overall impression that's ready to show off but
never too fancy to drive... and that's the overall theme of this
custom. The chrome bumper, updated front end, and upgraded billet
grille put a bright face forward. The flag window graphic, upgraded
side trim, flush rear roll pan, and bright exhaust tips are all
about a cooler-looking cruiser. And the addition of the cowl hood
is a great way to announce the upgraded power. Plus, the American
Racing Torq Thrust wheels are also part of a great muscle car
tradition. But they are now in a modern 20-inch size to fit better
sports tires. And the soft tonneau not only makes this more
aerodynamic, but it also covers the fully lined bed to keep this
truck handy.
The interior continues the feeling of both stylish and useful. You
especially see it on the seats. These are ultra-comfy modern bucket
seats borrowed from a 2016 Silverado (a nice not to the pint
color.) You have supple leather, good bolstering, large headrests,
and yours even power adjusts. There are more great comfort pieces,
like the power windows, power locks, center console, cup holders,
air conditioning, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. And your driving
position is also upgraded with a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel,
a tilt column, and auxiliary readouts on the A-pillar.
This one earns its 454 SS badging with the upgrade to a 454
cubic-inch V8 under the hood. And this big block is ready for
primetime with a tidy setup, etched valve covers, and so much shine
that we dare you to find another component that could be polished.
It not only looks terrific, but it's also a solid powerhouse. This
V8 is said to have been built only about 2,500 miles ago. It's also
said to include flat-top pistons, roller rockers, and a mild cam.
The big block inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor,
and it exhales with added power and rumble as ceramic-coated shorty
headers feed into a dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. It's a
good all-around driver with power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and a stout but smooth TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission. And the Belltech lowered suspension, newer bushings,
and grippy Cooper tires give this a confident sports truck feel on
the road.
This is the custom Silverado with a true Super Sport attitude. So
