Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this 1978 Silver
Anniversary Edition Corvette in fantastic condition and priced to
sell. This Corvette looks fantastic, runs great, and is an
excellent driver. It is totally solid with great body lines and no
rust at all. The Corvette has been finished in the beautiful and
highly desirable color combination of Silver Anniversary Two Tone
Silver over Charcoal with Oyster Leather interior. This is an
excellent opportunity to own a wonderful classic Corvette that is
ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could
easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase
price in the years to come as the market on C3 Corvette is hot
right now and on the rise. The low original mileage is supported
not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio
title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as, "Actual."
Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information to get a
true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.
There are dozens of receipts for maintenance and repairs over the
past few years from the previous owner. He was a very conscientious
owner and the receipts with car total over $5,600. We have driven
this car about 20 miles, during that time the car was completely
reliable, a pleasure to drive, and had no issues.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come
from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The two-tone Silver and Charcoal exterior is in excellent driver
condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a terrific
gloss and deep shine. Both doors open and shut nicely. The original
YJ8 aluminum wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish.
The Goodyear Eagle GTII raised white letter tires have plenty of
tread left and are correctly sized 255/60R15. There are no major
scratches, scrapes, or other imperfections that have been
intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small bumps
on the front end visible in the photos and some other tiny
imperfections that were too faint to show up in the photos, but
noting that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away.
The car has a very unique pinstripe that mimics the Chevrolet
"heartbeat of America" symbol. This Corvette has no rust issues and
as one can see in the many photos of the underside it is very clean
underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key
hole" area in front of the rear tire and there are no signs of
corrosion around the windshield or birdcage area, which are the two
most notorious areas for rust on a Corvette of this era. We have
included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show
how nice and clean this car is.
Interior
The Oyster interior in this Corvette is in absolutely outstanding
condition. The seats look almost brand new with no split seams,
rips, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical
area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge
faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The
carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes.
The dash and console are in nice shape with no sun fading, there is
a crack in the dash visible in the photos above the center console.
The door panels are in great shape. The door pulls are solid and
intact. The car has a modern Corvette specific radio made just for
this model. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or
modified for an aftermarket installation. The factory jack is still
with the car, stored correctly in the compartment behind the
passenger seat. The spare is also still with the car. Please note
that both seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common
problem on C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to
check. This L48 Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no
burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Please note that the T-Tops
bags are still with the car and included with the sale.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well,
especially with a light color like Oyster, and the excellent
condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous
care and attention this car has received throughout its life and
another great verification of the low original mileage.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in great mechanical condition and it is
ready to be enjoyed. As stated above, the car has over $5,600 in
receipts so it is very well mechanically sorted and we have driven
it 20 miles with no issues. The car starts right away every time,
runs well, and idles smooth. It drives terrifically and is feels
great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can
observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph,
braking to stoplight, going through some curves, and shifting
through all the gears. Please note that there are no strange noises
or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. There is no
blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are
responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The
transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The car
runs cool and does not overheat. This Corvette has plenty of power
and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully
clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.
The wipers work as do all the exterior lights, interior lights,
dash lights, wiper, indicators, power windows, power antenna, and
horn; even the glove box light still works. The blower for the
heater and a/c works on all speeds. The air conditioning itself
works and blow cold. There is a receipt with the car showing the
a/c was serviced and converted to the more modern r134a freon. One
can observe the a/c compressor clicking on and engaging properly in
the video. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the
clock. The entire vacuum system for the headlights works with no
binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up correctly with
either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. The complete
operation of the headlights from both switches can be seen in the
video. The power locks do not work. Not enough can be said as to
how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the
T-tops out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1978 Corvette is in amazing condition and is an
excellent driver. The, the low miles, the highly desirable options,
the beautiful color combination, and the great overall condition
make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. The
prices of C3 Corvettes have increased drastically over the past
years. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down
the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken
care of by its previous owners. The C3 Corvettes are secure and
wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this
vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase
price with minimal effort.
