Vehicle Description
This 1959 Chevrolet Apache stepside pickup has been transformed
with modern slick paint on the outside and a bucket seat on the
inside. And beneath the skin is a well-built small block. It makes
for a head-turning custom that lets you really drive true vintage
appeal.
The dark blue has radiance with its metallic finish that gives
plenty of modern flair. We just love how it shows off the distinct
features, like the creases in the hood and curvy fenders of the
stepside bed. It tells you there has been a good investment in the
way this truck looks. And as you dig deeper, there's quality in the
fundamentals, like the way weather-stripping feels fresh, doors
shut solid, and the quality of the clean glass. So it makes for a
thoughtful classic, and that seems to be the overall theme. It's
why the black bumpers go with the black trim, and the full wheel
package was switched to the polished outlaw-style ones - including
the rarely-seen side-mounted spare. And while it's a great-looking
classic, this also likes to still get to work. That's why there's
color-matched liner paint on the bed sides, a proper rear step
bumper, and a proper trailer hitch with a plug.
The interior continues the custom presentation. And this was really
made for the driver. Those later model high bucket seats have
plenty of bolstering that ensures this custom is fully comfortable.
The gray vinyl looks good with nice contrast from the dark blue
dash, headliner, and door panels. They integrated more upgrades,
like a center console with a padded armrest, cup holders, and a
Pioneer AM/FM/CD receiver. The retro-cool dual-spoke sports
steering wheel has a nice grip, and it's mounted on a tilt column
to give you a clear view of the white-face AutoMeter gauges. And
the AutoGage tach is mounted prominently on the top of the
dash.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay funnel your attention to the
bright 350 cubic-inch V8 crate motor in the middle. This has a tidy
setup where you'll notice quality components, like an electric fan,
dual master cylinder, and upgraded pulleys. But what you'll love
best of all are the performance upgrades to the motor. This V8 has
been enhanced with aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and topped
with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. Plus, the headers add extra
power while contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. Add in
the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power
brakes with discs up front, and you have a strong motor at the
heart of a solid driver.
