Is it difficult to appear tough, stylish, custom, powerful, and
vintage all in one pickup? The answer would usually be yes, but
this 1987 Chevrolet Silverado does all that with ease. It's a
unique classic that backs up its muscle truck style with an LS
fuel-injected V8 and a six-speed. And you get to enjoy it all from
the comfort of an A/C interior.
The first part that strikes you about this full-size pickup is that
bold front end. The factory never put this face on Silverados, but
a few clever people in the custom car community realized that the
rare face Chevy gave to the final years of the K5 Blazer would also
fit on these trucks, for a very distinctive and cool look. The
front is also set apart with a muscle car cowl hood. Beyond that is
the black paint with a deep luster. When this paint was applied,
much of the body chrome was deleted. This not only helps highlight
how straight the sheet metal is, but it also saves the brightwork
attention for the bumpers and the cool 22-inch Boss wheels. The
lowered stance, aggressive red line on the rims, rugged liner paint
in the bed, and tinted windows all come together for a detailed and
stylish build.
The best muscle machines are either done in red or black, and so
the full red interior means this custom truck has the best in
aggression. But beyond its mean looks, this truck was built to
coddle. It comes loaded with power windows, power locks, dual fuel
tanks, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and ice-cold air-conditioning. Plus, the
sports steering wheel, tilt column, and tall shifter make for a
comfortable and confident driver.
Under the hood is a GM powerhouse, but it's younger than the
classic small block power. A 6.0-liter LS2 V8 was transplanted from
a final-generation Pontiac GTO within the last few thousand miles.
A newer addition also means newer supporting components, like the
hoses, alternator, wires, aluminum radiator, and Optima red top
battery. This inhales deeply with a Holley intake and a Holley
Sniper electronic fuel injection system. It exhales with added
power and authority as headers feed into the X-pipe dual exhaust.
The upgrade to the GTO's six-speed manual transmission means true
sports car control over this modern and powerful V8. Add in power
steering, power brakes, and front discs, and this custom truck is a
solid all-around cruiser.
This is the kind of truck that makes no compromises. It's a sleek
back custom pickup on the outside. There's every modern convenience
you want on the inside. And the powerhouse is an awesome
fuel-injected upgrade. Call today!!!
