Vehicle Description
This 1966 Buick Skylark is a GS tribute and also a fully-built
custom retromod. It's a coupe with a fuel-injected Vortec motor, a
five-speed stick, an upgraded suspension, and four-wheel disc
brakes. And this was built to be a terrific all-around driver, and
you'll understand that when you see the loaded A/C interior.
We love this generation of Buicks for their design lines. Both the
front and rear have a triple-point look where not only are the
fenders crisp, but also there's a well-defined center in the trunk
and hood, too. Plus, the chrome bumpers love to hug these lines for
a look that's both sporty and sophisticated. There are nice
details, like the full-length body crease and flying buttress
c-pillars. But what's really striking are the performance pieces.
It has been upgraded for a proper Grand Sport style with the hood
scoop trim, backout grille, blackout rear panel, dual exhaust tips,
and Rallye wheels. And the silver paint has the right look of a
bright and attractive classic that was also made to be a true
driver.
The black interior is attractive against the silver exterior. This
is the kind of car that's easy to share with everyone, especially
because there are upgrades to keep everyone happy like cold-blowing
air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. There are
some finishing upgrades you may want to do if you're looking for a
show car. But since a restomod is all about being an easier driver,
we like how this one is currently set up so that you don't get too
nervous when family and friends hop in with dusty shoes. And in
case you haven't already picked up on this, the interior makes sure
the driver has a commanding feeling. You have bucket seats up
front, a center console in-between, the sports steering wheel is on
a tilt column, and your gauges are now a modern digital package.
Plus, have you counted the gears on the Hurst shifter yet?
The engine bay instantly reminds you how different this Buick is.
The 5.3-liter Vortec V8 is a powerhouse that basically takes this
classic a half-century into the future. It fires up eagerly as a
modern fuel-injected motor should, and the Flowmaster mufflers on
the dual exhaust give this a great tune. You harness this modern
powerhouse to the fullest with the control of a five-speed manual
transmission. As you look underneath, you can see a tubular A-arm
front suspension, newer bushings, boxer rear arms, a rear sway bar,
and QA1 coilovers. It makes for a confident driver that's everyday
easy thanks to power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes. A
total package driver like this even has cruise control. So you can
just imagine taking this upgraded Buick on the Power Tour.
This is the kind of classic that loves to give you a ton of modern
appeal. So if you want to turn heads while taking trips near and
far, you need this Buick. Call now!
