More go. 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT magazine advertisement At its
launch, the Pontiac Fiero was a smash. Car and Driver waxed
eloquent in their praise for the car they'd later name to the
magazine's 10 Best list. Offered here is a 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT in
silver over two-tone gray. The small European inspired coupe shape
is unmistakable, and still a style that turns heads. The Fiero's
well-chosen, classic silver paint makes the most of the car's
design. Gloss is even and shine is deep across every panel. The
rubber bodyside trim shows no scrapes or abrasion. Headlight lenses
are clear and uncracked, and the full-width smoked taillight lens
combination is likewise free of damage. Factory-applied badging
remains in place, including Pontiac embossed lettering on the rear
bumper cap and left headlight cover, GT badges on the sail panels,
and both the Fiero GT lettering and V6 engine designation badges on
the rear. Quad exhaust outlets show beneath the rear bumper.
Optional mesh-style 14-inch wheels are finished in a contrasting
dark gray color, and are mounted with Hankook tires. Inside, the
color scheme is a well-coordinated dark gray and light gray. The
overall look is modern with square-shaped design cues and an
upright instrument pod. Seat upholstery on the twin high-back
buckets is a handsome combination of dark-gray outer portions with
light-gray inserts. Door trim combines light-gray panels with
medium-gray carpet on the lower surfaces; the driver's seat bolster
shows wear. Cabin carpeting is similarly medium-gray in color, and
protected by Fiero GT-embroidered carpet mats. A two-spoke sport
steering wheel fronts a straightforward instrument cluster with
large speedometer, 5,500-rpm-redline tachometer, auxiliary
engine-monitoring gauges, and vertically arranged warning lights.
The center stack includes HVAC controls above the upgraded Clarion
audio. Indeed, every interior surface remains in great condition
owing to fastidious owner care and limited use over the years. The
transverse-mounted, 2.8-liter V6 resides under the rear decklid
just rearward of the cabin. As the Car and Driver writer noted,
this engine brought the Fiero up to very respectable performance
levels. A Fiero-embossed, red air intake crowns the engine while
the remainder of the engine bay is clean and properly organized.
The small trunk to the rear of the engine is also nicely clean.
Viewed from below, the chassis is straight, complete and clean. The
Fiero's build and identification tags remain mounted. Please be
sure and look at the more than 175 high-definition photographs and
the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the
GarageKeptMotors website. Please call to arrange an appointment in
advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to
get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.
