Vehicle Description
Is this a cool family classic? The best vehicle to haul the other
toys? A great head-turner for an affordable price? The answer to
all of that is "yes." That's because this 1993 Buick Roadmaster
Estate wagon has that classic wagon look, but the eight-person
interior, cold A/C, and fuel-injected V8 remind you it's
exceptionally useful, too.
This is the last of the big American luxury cars; this is the last
generation Roadmaster. Like the name sounds, this one is meant to
own the asphalt. But while it's substantial in size, it also has a
graceful look with a gently sloping hood and a bright trim line
that encircles the entire body. The name of the factory-correct
paint is Light Driftwood, which seems like a perfect pairing for a
wagon that has classic wood-like paneling. The finish is an older
respray, and today it has the right look of a bright but useful
machine. So it looks like the right style for the premium but
practical family car. And considering it has averaged under 4k
miles annually (far less than you'd expect a road trip hauler to
do) there's a straightness to the sheet metal that shows good care.
So this would even make this a terrific base if you're thinking
about taking the solid V8 base and making a custom grocery-getter
street machine.
The interior has an outstanding appearance that ideally preserves
the Buick-level luxury. It starts with the beige leather seats that
have a fold-down front center console to give you individual
comfort when the middle seat isn't needed. Your seat even power
adjusts to the ideal driving position. You also get great factory
luxuries such as automatic A/C climate control, power windows,
power locks, power mirrors, a tilt steering column, anti-lock
brakes, a driver airbag, and the premium factory AM/FM/cassette
stereo. There's also a passenger sunroof that always looks cool in
these Roadmasters. Plus, the reverse-facing third-row seat is a
great piece we wish we could still get in wagons today (any
passenger noise is facing the other direction.) And if you want to
fold both rear rows flat, you've got the perfect machine to
securely haul everything from a weekend's worth of projects to the
ultimate tailgate package. This one even has a proper tow hitch to
bring even more fun with you!
Under the hood is more of that well-preserved look seen throughout
the car. It's a 5.7-liter fuel injected engine, which means plenty
of power whenever you need it. This V8 is tuned to deliver the kind
of quiet operation you expect from a car built to this degree of
comfort. But of course, as with most hardy small block V8s, you
also know there's added power and rumble ready to be unleashed if
you so desire. But we like how this one is already presented as a
well-respected cruiser. Power steering, cruise control, power
brakes w/discs up front, and four-speed automatic transmission with
a highway-ready overdrive are all perfect easy trips near or
far.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the premium Roadmaster that's
fun, practical, vintage, useful, loaded, and quite distinct. So you
just know you have a ton of plans for it in your life. Call
