The GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 2001 Jaguar XKR
Silverstone edition for your consideration. This rare convertible
is finished in the beautiful shade of Platinum Metallic and still
presents very well. The black leather interior in complimented by
red piping and gorgeous gray stained maple trim. The power
convertible top has good overall fabric condition, and is in good
working order. Powering the Jaguar is a 370hp, 4.0L Supercharged V8
sending power to the rear wheels through a smooth shifting 5-speed
automatic transmission. Upgraded 20" wheels and tires give the car
an elegant, but sporty appearance. Originally a south Florida car,
this Jag has been lovingly cared for by its current Indiana owner,
and regularly enjoyed during good weather drives. Exclusivity,
performance, style and craftsmanship...it's all here.
Built to honor Jaguar's entry to Formula One racing, only a small
number of these XKR Silverstones were destined for North America.
The Silverstone is a special edition of the XKR, itself the 370-hp
supercharged performance version of the normally aspirated XK8. Red
stitched charcoal leather on the steering wheel and sport seats,
gray-stained maple trim and special badging inside and out take
care of the cosmetic additions. There's also a cosmetic element to
the major performance enhancement: 20-inch BBS alloy wheels styled
after those on the XK180 concept car. The bigger wheels make room
for bigger brakes, red-painted, four-pot aluminum Brembo calipers
(same units used on the Porsche Turbo) grabbing cross-drilled
rotors 14 inches in diameter in front and 13 inches out back.
