Vehicle Description
1979 CHEVROLET CORVETTE
Why This Car Is Special
The Chevrolet Corvette (C3) was a sports car that was produced by
Chevrolet for the 1968 through 1982 model years. Engines and

The red 1979 Chevrolet Corvette we have at Skyway Classics saw the

Mechanical
The engine in our Vette is the base L-48 engine which generated 195
hp. Output for all engines increased due to new "open flow"
mufflers. The dual-snorkel air intake introduced on L-82 cars the
previous year was now fitted to all cars including ours. It
connects to the front with tubes to bring a fresh supply of air at
all times.
The engine has blue factory valve covers, ignition shielding,
Automatic transmission, Power steering, Power four-wheel disc
brakes with dual hydraulic circuits and brake warning light, and
air conditioning.
Our 79 Vette rides on Factory polished Aluminum wheels with Dunlop
Radial tires with a great exhaust note emanating from the true dual
exhaust system and tips in the rear.
Interior
The new tan interior features the "high back" seats that were made
standard equipment. The new seats have better side bolster, provide
easier access to the rear storage area, and the seat pair resulted
in a weight reduction of about 24 pounds.
It has a great aftermarket custom radio with dual front speakers,
Air conditioning heater and defroster with 3-speed blower, Full
instrumentation speedometer with trip odometer, tach, voltmeter,
oil pressure and water temperature gages, Quartz analog clock,
Illuminated visor mirror for passenger, Courtesy and dome lights
with time delay, Removable roof panels, Dual body color sport
mirrors with remote controls, Tilt-Telescopic steering wheel with
leather-wrap rim, and the factory tan center console.
Exterior
The flashy red paint looks great with the rocker panels painted
black, bolt-on front spoiler, roof T-tops are painted a matching
red body color and has the right stance with it running Dunlop
Radial Raised White Letter tires on its Independent front
suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar and Independent

spring, with the factory polished aluminum wheels.
