car for the great multitude. €" Henry Ford Offered here is a 1931
Model A Roadster in triple black-black paint, black fabric top and
black interior. The car's beautifully restored condition, extensive
current maintenance history, and tasteful, period-sensitive
upgrades make this a standout Model A. Showing 73,570 miles, the
Ford has traveled fewer than 850 miles per-year on average since
new. The black exterior paint shows excellent gloss and even
application across all surfaces. There are no dings, dents, or
damage on any of the body panels; even the running boards with blue
Ford-script step-plate are in excellent condition. Red pinstriping
and red-painted wire wheels add just the right touch of flair and
personality. Chrome trim is in very well-maintained condition; the
classic grille (topped with flying quail radiator ornament),
eyebrow headlights, front and rear 2-bar bumpers, auxiliary amber
driving lights, twin cowl lights, spare-tire-mounted side mirrors,
windshield surround, door handles rumble-seat trim, taillight trim,
and drop-down rear, wood-trimmed luggage rack all shine brightly
with virtually no patina. The black fabric convertible top is
properly fitted and free of rips, tears, or significant wear
indications. The red-painted wire wheels (with
Ford-script-logo-embossed chrome hubcaps) are mounted with
period-correct BFGoodrich Silvertown wide-whitewall tires. Inside,
the black, vertically pleated upholstery covers the front bench
seat and the rumble seat in back. Door panels are upholstered flat
panels. Floors feature rubber matting. The original 4-spoke black
steering wheel fronts a body-color-painted dashboard with chrome
center-mounted instrument panel featuring correct gauges-fuel
level, amperage, speedometer, and odometer-and switchgear. The
gearshift lever for the 3-speed manual transmission and the
handbrake lever are floor-mounted. Under the center-hinged,
lift-up, louvered hood panels, the 201-cubic-inch Ford 4-cylinder
wears its proper-color engine-block paint. All components-including
the Auto-Lite manifold-mounted heater-are properly installed; the
engine bay is clean with obvious recent maintenance. Viewed from
below, the chassis is straight, very clean, and free of damage. All
components are properly in place. The car's original identification
stamping remains legible. The sale includes the referenced
recent-maintenance documentation, the prior owner's detailed
start-up and shut-down procedures, and a copy of a vintage Ford
Model A Instruction Book. While the more than 190 high-definition
photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available
on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '31 Model A Roadster
in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and
encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan
showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our
showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch
anytime by phone or email if you have questions. This black Model A
Roadster is an automotive magician: it will turn even a short drive
into a mini-parade, and any longer excursion into a lifetime
memory. Want to see the grandkids giddy with joy? Load 'em into the
rumble seat and start the adventure!
