Vehicle Description
This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette is one of those great cars for
collectors that love to drive. After all, you have the
numbers-matching big block and transmission. And this even shows
the right signs of a more recent and comprehensive restoration. So
it has a nice car show quality. But everything from the growl of
the side pipes to the comfort of the loaded A/C interior reminds
you that a great Corvette is a terrific way to enjoy the open
road.
Corvettes always look good in white, because after all, the first
ones were all painted this way. So it seems especially appropriate
to have one for the 20th anniversary year. The color is an upgrade
later in life, and so this professional application continues to
have an attractive finish with a deep gloss. This level of quality
sets the tone for the good body lines and shining brightwork. This
also has the best classic details around, like the rally wheels,
redline tires, and rear luggage rack. Plus, the side pipes are
truly a polished beacon of power.
The dark blue interior is factory-correct, and it looks quite nice
against the exterior white. The door panels, carpeting, center
console, and upholstery all make this quite inviting. The deeply
tinted T-tops are a nice touch. Not only can you take them out, but
also the rear window for a true open-air feeling. It's a true
classic with plenty of vintage details, like the Delco AM/FM radio,
courtesy lights, and clock all working nicely. And you'll also
appreciate luxury features like power windows and air conditioning.
It's a terrific driver's classic with a tilt/telescoping steering
column, full gauges with large speedo and tach right in front of
you, and restored bucket seats with excellent padding.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 454 cubic-inch big block.
This V8 has plenty of showmanship shine, and there are even cool
details like the gasket that seals this to the power dome hood.
This feeds the numbers-matching TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission that's a stout but smooth partner for the big block.
It's built to be a true driver, and so you have the right upgrades,
like an aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, and a serpentine
belt system. Even those awesome side pipes have the right amount of
baffling so that they announce the big block without being droning
for the long trips. And the fully independent sports suspension,
power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes make it great for
any time driving.
