The product of a detailed, professional restoration that was
completed by the pros at Kent, Washington's Rillos Manufacturing,
this super cool Chevy is clean, mean and ready to roll! Naturally,
the build was a frame-off affair that included top notch metal
work. And that vivid orange pearl you're busy admiring was
carefully sprayed over a roster of tasteful custom details. At the
front of all that dialed in dash, a polished grille hangs modern,
dual-mode headlamps between filled parking lamps and a smoothed and
painted bumper. A domed hood leads a crisp greenhouse, which rolls
traditional, two-piece side glass behind billet mirrors and
polished wipers. At the sides of that glass, a smooth profile hangs
polished factory handles and filled stake pockets at the sides of a
finished wood bed that's decked in polished slats. And out back, a
custom roll pan, complete with a Frenched tag pocket, frames a
smoothed tailgate and Frenched LED taillights.
BIG BLOCK POWER
Lift the hood and you'll find 454 cubic inches of proven Chevrolet
big block! The monster eats through a polished K&N XStream air
cleaner, which bends wind into an electronically choked Edelbrock
4-barrel that's outfitted with stainless lines, a Lokar linkage and
a colorful Edelbrock filter. That mix falls through a coated
Edelbrock Performer 2-O intake that's seated between cast iron
heads. Those caps balance billet breathers and color-keyed valve
covers opposite coated, long-tube headers. Those tubes cage loomed
Taylor plug wires, which milk a hot HEI distributor. There's a
massive aluminum radiator that's slid between a bright support and
a big SPAL puller fans. A snazzy March serpentine drive spins
billet-trimmed power steering beneath a polished alternator, a
polished AC compressor and a trusty Edelbrock water pump.
Ancillaries are first rate in every way, with a polished brake
booster and billet fluid reservoirs complementing trick dipsticks
and a quality Edelbrock fuel pump. And the tough iron mill rides
tight in a clean, body-matched engine bay.
BUILT TO ENJOY
Speaking of clean, the bottom of this first class C10 is absolutely
immaculate, from the truck's orange-tinged horns all the way to its
custom stainless fuel tank. Behind the 454, a proven
Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed twists torque to a tough 12-bolt axle.
Everything rolls low and mean on a familiar, factory-style
suspension that's been thoughtfully upgraded with beefy sway bars
and requisite drop spindles. Lucid power steering makes parking
easy and turns a cinch. Quick stops come courtesy of power-assisted
discs and power-assisted drums. The aforementioned headers feed
aluminized pipes, which route roars through an H-shape crossover,
polished XL Performance mufflers and polished, square-outlet tips.
And power meets the pavement through polished Boyd Coddington
blades, which spin 225/50R17 Falken Ziex in front of 275/50R17
Falken Ziex.
TIMELESS COMFORT
Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a tastefully customized cockpit
that's classy in all the right ways. Attractive two-tone upholstery
dresses full-size buckets at the sides of a tidy Buddy Bucket. A
bright orange dash hangs billet-trimmed Dolphin telemetry next to
cool Vintage Air conditioning and modern, direct-fit audio. Premium
carpet anchors modern lap belts between billet foot pedals and a
tight headliner. Custom door panels frame billet handles. And the
driver spins a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel around a
polished, tilting column.
