Vehicle Description
We're told this 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sedan was recently
under decades of the same family's care. And in that time they had
some fun upgrading the family car into a bit more of a meaner
machine. It has a sporty set up with a unique exterior and a
well-built 400ci V8 under the hood. There are even some more recent
suspension investments that keep it a confident cruiser.
Mist Blue really looks great on this first-gen Chevelle. The
factory-correct color has the right classic cruiser style that goes
well with the chrome bumpers and the Malibu's full-length trim. The
light blue is also a good contrast for the dark elements like the
matte black hood, deeply tinted windows, and black five-spoke
wheels with an extra meaty rear set for an awesome stance. It's a
full package that sets the tone well for a cool classic that was
built to be a real driver. So you get those beautiful classic
Malibu lines, and the look of exactly what you would have done had
dad allowed you to upgrade the family car.
The same theme of an upgraded family classic continues here. After
all, one of the first things you'd do would be to upgrade the
radio, right? There are also auxiliary readouts, an added tach, and
a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel. Two wide rows of bench seats
and a column shifter give you the kind of open space that would
make this perfect for the driver-in back in the day, and so it's a
fun detail to have now. Plus, with the comfy cloth inserts, good
headliner, full carpeting, and all the interior space, this really
makes for a comfortable and inviting cruiser.
And of course, if this was yours to upgrade, the motor would take
center stage. This has now been upgraded to a 400 cubic-inch V8,
which gives you big block displacement in a small block weight. It
has been upgraded further with a Brawler four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers feeding into dual exhaust
with H-pipe and Flo-Pro mufflers. You'll even spot good supporting
pieces like Comp Cams valve covers, a Holley mechanical fuel pump,
newer pulleys, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with an electric
fan. This upgraded powerhouse is both strong and smooth, which
makes for an ideal cruiser. You'll also see this one is a solid
driver for all the investment underneath. It includes newer
springs, newer bushings, and tubular rear arms suspension with sway
bar. There's also power steering, a three-speed automatic
transmission, and wide tires for good traction.
