Lovingly named “Baby Benz” by Mercedes enthusiasts alike, the W201 chassis is often regarded as one of the best chassis’ by Mercedes during their pinnacle era. The 190e was a robust and reliable vehicle, perfect for enthusiasts looking for a proper handling, well sized daily driver. The W201 chassis was a direct competitor with the notorious E30 from BMW; both chassis’ offering various trim levels and performance options. To this day, the 190e is considered to be one of the best sedan designs from the 1980s and 1990s, for its svelte like proportions and classy features.
This 1986 190E 2.3 liter example has aged incredibly gracefully. As a one owner vehicle, this 190e has been lovingly cared for and meticulously serviced when needed over the decades of ownership. Paperwork, documentation, and other items such as the first aid kit and brochures are all in excellent condition, and complete. The Anthracite Grey Metallic (172U) paint shines wonderfully and is all original, showing small flaws such as chips which are to be expected with such age and mileage. The 5-speed manual operates beautifully and makes for an incredibly rare 190E driving experience. Its interior is dressed in grey MB Tex, displaying near flawless condition and still feels modern in its coloring.
