We have a lot of different cars in our collection and this icon is not to be missed. A real Volvo 850T-5R. One of the first stations that started the power saloon battle. And they kicked it off pretty well.
Let’s go back to the basics. The car is based on the T-5, which also had a lot to offer with its 225 horsepower. But it could be even spicier. Therefore Volvo has called in the help of Germans who are well known in this field, namely; Porsche. The Germans used their expertise to lift the engine and suspension of the 850 to the desired level and thanks to a change in the ECU and a bigger Garret-Turbo, the party became even bigger as the car now had 240 horsepower. 0-100 km/h is done in 7,6 seconds and the top is reached at 235 km/h. The result? The whole family, including the dog, nauseated on arrival in France.
The one we have? The only correct one. But you probably already knew that. It is the Estate and it is also the must-have colour, Cream Yellow. But, it gets even better. The car actually comes from Sweden and has only recently started to put its stripes on Dutch soil. What happened to the car in the Netherlands? She was fully restored. The whole car, completely tackled. And all documentation including pictures are present. The only thing worth noting is the mileage of 262.969. That means that it has not been driven much at all. These engines are known to be indestructible and are often found with a mileage of over 450,000 kilometres. There are even rumours that some of them have been to the moon. So all that’s left is for the new owner to put a few more tons on the counter. See you soon?
