Vehicle Description
Aston Martin's modern-day renaissance began in 1994, following
nearly two decades of financial struggles and ownership changes.
The DB7 was Aston's first entirely new car in years, and it also
marked the triumphant return of the familiar "DB" moniker after a
long hiatus. With the DB7, Aston learned how to produce a car for
the modern era, thanks to significant investment from Ford Motor
Company and lessons in platform sharing with the Jaguar XJS and
XK8, also in Ford's premium portfolio. It also introduced fresh new
design language by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet that was a far cry
from the brutalist-style V8 Vantage and Virage. The DB7 gained a
V12 engine in 1999, setting the stage for Aston's most successful
period since the 1960s. After more than 7,000 DB7s, Aston Martin
introduced the follow-up DB9 in 2004, which took the formula one
step further with a rigid new all-aluminum platform, paired with
the 5.9-liter V12 engine developed by Ford and Cosworth and shared
with the Vanquish supercar. Buyers could choose either a
Graziano-built six-speed manual or a ZF six-speed automatic with
paddle shifting, which best suited the DB9's grand touring
character. The styling was again the work of Ian Callum, this time
partnered with Henrik Fisker. The result was fabulous - an elegant
and timeless form that still looks remarkably fresh even after
nearly twenty years. As a grand touring sports car, the DB9 is one
of the best in its class. The beautifully trimmed cabin is roomy,
with 2+2 seating and a generously sized boot to hold ample luggage
on a continental journey. Long journeys are where the V12 engine
shines, with 450 bhp on tap initially, with post-2009 models
getting a boost to 470 bhp and reworked electronics to improve
reliability. The smooth and sonorous engine pushed the DB9 to a top
speed in excess of 180 mph. This 2010 Aston DB9 Coupe is a striking
example showing just 5,989 miles from new and beautifully presented
in midnight blue over blue and parchment leather upholstery. Having
fewer than 6,000 miles, it is appropriately superb, with excellent
paintwork and detailing. This coupe is a desirable post-2009 model,
benefitting from numerous refinements, including the more powerful
470-bhp V12 engine and featuring the robust and proven ZF six-speed
automatic gearbox for a dual-purpose sports/GT experience. The most
recent owner acquired it in 2012, and the low mileage is documented
via regular state inspections noted on the clean Carfax report. The
beautiful dark metallic blue paintwork is particularly fetching on
the DB9's sophisticated and subtly muscular bodywork. Paint quality
is superb, with factory-precise panel fit and gaps. Wheels are in
excellent order, with correct-spec Bridgestone Potenza tires all
around. The lamps, lenses, and bright trim accents are pristine.
The DB9's distinctive "swan doors" reveal a striking two-tone cabin
featuring rich, dark blue leather on the seats, instrument panel,
and console, with parchment accents on the door cards and lower
dash. Other details include contrasting stitching, and blonde maple
on the central instrument stack, contrasting nicely with the silver
alloy finish on the console and instrument faces. The leather is
superb, with no appreciable wear on the driver's seat, excellent
outer bolsters, and rear seats that have likely never been used.
Features include the requisite multi-way power/memory seats,
built-in navigation with a flip-up screen, and a high-powered audio
system. The original owner's guide and a spare key are included.
With a press of the unique crystal key fob, the big 5.9-liter V12
erupts into life and settles down quickly. While the Aston is
docile enough to be a grocery-getter, 470 horsepower is just a
squeeze of the throttle away, with silky smooth power delivery and
crisp shifts from the ZF gearbox. Its current owner is an
enthusiastic collector and has maintained this car in excellent
condition. It is offered on the button and ready to enjoy to the
fullest. With exceptionally low mileage, desirable spec, and
gorgeous colors, this DB9 is an outstanding example of Aston
Martin's widely appreciated Grand Tourer, offered out of long-term
ownership and in collector-quality condition. Offers welcome and
trades considered For additional details please view this listing
