Very few people have ever heard of the Mustang T-5's and even fewer
have had the pleasure of seeing one of these rare Mustangs in the
United States. This was simply because the T-5 Mustang was never
offered here in the states. The T-5 package was strictly for
Mustang export cars sold to Germany. Until 1979, the Krupp truck
manufacturing company owned the copyright to the Mustang name in
Germany. Therefore Ford changed the name of these Mustangs to the
Ford T-5. This 1967 Ford Mustang T-5 fastback is an excellent
example of these rare Mustangs. This Ford T-5 benefits from a
recent nut and bolt restoration and presents very well in its
factory correct Silver Frost exterior. Only 865 Mustangs were
finished in Silver Frost in 1967. The very factory correct
restoration was completed using as many New-Old-Stock Ford parts as
possible. The exterior shines very well with few defects in the
paint. The Silver Frost exterior is complimented nicely by a set of
period correct Ford magnum wheels wrapped in dual redline, 4-ply
BFGoodrich tires and correct Ford T-5 badges. The Silver Frost
exterior paired with the Red vinyl interior is a striking, factory
correct appearance and only 91 Mustangs were originally built with
these paint/trim codes. The interior presents in excellent
condition with no defects of note. Powering this rare Ford is the
correct C-code 289 cubic inch V8 equipped with the correct
Motorcraft 2-barrel carburetor. Backing the 289 cubic inch V8 is a
date coded correct top-loader, 4-speed manual transmission. Both
the engine and transmission perform just as they should. The bottom
side of the car is very nicely detailed and finished in the correct
red oxide primer and features many correct, factory paint markings.
This 1967 Mustang T-5 is very nicely equipped with factory options
such as: sport deck folding rear seat, heavy-duty export suspension
package, deluxe seat belts, power disc brakes, center console, roof
console, heater/defroster, German dealer installed steering wheel
lock, AM radio, and variable speed wipers. In 1967, there was not
another Mustang equipped like this Ford T-5 and it is a true 1-of-1
car documented by Marti Auto Works. If you are in the market for a
rare and unique first generation Mustang that is turn-key ready to
cruise down your favorite back road or to your local car show, then
you will not want to miss out on this great piece of automotive
history.
